Blood Angels Codex?

Where do I find the updated 5th edition Blood Angels Codex? I heard that you had to download it, but I was unable to find it on the CW site or on the net. Thank you.

http://www.games-workshop.com/MEDIA_...th_Edition.pdf

It takes awhile to load if your internet connection isn't super fast.

Ok I have a question of my own (no point in creating a new thread):

Is there any changes at all from the revision? I looked through it and I can't spot any differences what so ever. Is there even any differences, or did I miss something somewhere in the PDF?

the way the codex stands is ready to use for 5th ed.

the codex originally appeared in two separate White Dwarf articles in 2007, but the version that's online is supposed to be current.

however, there are things that you can't get in the BA codex that standard marines get, like Thunderfire cannons, LR Redeemers, LS storm, Ironclad Dreadnoughts, etc.

this may be to balance out the fact that the BA have lots of special characters to choose from, they get the DC, and all your troop choices can be assault squads.

however, (again) i've heard this codex is getting a re write since the online version, as it stands, is slightly broke IMHO.

for example, BA servitors do not seem to be affect by the mindlock rule that codex SM servitors suffer, and they shoot as well as marines, as do scouts.

Personally I think it's unlikely it'll get an update, nor do I think it's broken. Codex SM gets some things Codex BA doesn't, and Codex BA gets some things Codex SM doesn't.

I'd be interested in seeing the results of any BA-v-SM battles to try to build a picture of whether one is better than the other though... anyone play those sort of battles?

:sorry maybe I should have started a new thread too cyclops:

Actually that link you posted up that is 'supposedly' updated to 5th, is the exact same as the codex that came out in white dwarf (actually had my copies in my laptop bag at work, to prove how much of a dork i am.) The only thing they changed is slapped 'Updated for 5th Edition' on the front.

Please note, actually went through stat-by-stat and proved that they were the exact same, rather than just browsing through.

Trevor_Drake: Americans walk roughly 900 miles per year, and consume on average 22 gallons of beer a year, so the average american gets 41 miles to the gallon!

sorry about the slow work day mate, but to get back on topic, i didn't realized that the White Dwarf and online versions were the same; i hadn't compared them because the White Dwarf issues that the codex came out are archived and hard to get to for me.

at Red Orc: only reason i believe (but not positive) of a the re write is because i've heard through one my local GW sellers, and he's not the kind to fabricate rumors.

but if what Trevor Drake is true, then i'd be more inclined to believe in a re write, to dumb down a few things, at least.

and the only reason that i think the codex is broken is because you can make some strange builds, like 6 techmarines if you take 3 tanks and 3 dreads.

so you yeah, you can have 9 Elite choices.

read the codex, ye non believers
