Squad/Regiment - Any squad, regiment, or other defined group of models from any company.
Only models that are painted wholly within the month are eligible to enter (i.e. unpainted or only primed at the start of the month). Entrants are not required to post a photograph of the model before painting. If you have a question as to whether or not your model qualifies, please feel free to post in this thread.
You may join the painting deathmatch in progress at any time, but must submit photographs of the completed miniature by midnight GMT, 31 August 2016. WIP images are welcomed and encouraged.
Miniatures that are completed in time will be eligible to win the deathmatch. The deathmatch winner will be decided in a separate voting thread by the Heresy Online community. Votes should be cast not simply on painting skill, but on merit, including creativity, application of painting techniques, individual artist improvement, etc. The winner of the deathmatch will be awarded with the Mark of Slaanesh award.
Winners from the previous month are able to participate in the next months painting deathmatch, but they are not eligible to win in consecutive months.
This is not the year long Army Painting Challenge, but a separate Monthly event. Though entries in one can also be entered into the other (assuming it fits into the category chosen for this deathmatch).
I need to pressure myself into painting something horribly boring, so I'll enter a unit of cultists
If I unexpectedly end of with more time on my hands, I could end up switching them out for a unit of three bikers. Or even more unlikely, a Mayhem Pack! Which, I guess, is not really a unit, so I'll save that for next month..
I'll toss in my Immortals if I hit pause on painting early enough for a 'before' picture. Half were based grey and the other half black, I've done a bit of the silver at this point though when I realized that it was squad/regiment month. All work was done this month.
I just realised that this month's entry is squads, so I may as well throw these boys in the ring. They were done in the first couple of days of the month, and it's probably my favourite BA squad that I've painted to date.
Going to throw my cultists in, just to show I do occasionally paint something, it was more of a make a dirty nurgly looking squad so they aren't very pretty.
