Hello everyone! Welcome to the thread for the

Rules

  1. The category is decided upon and posted in the Painting Deathmatch Calendar. This month's category is:
    • Single Miniature - Any single miniature from any company up to 40mm size base. If the miniature is not mounted on a base, then entrants must seek confirmation before entering.
  2. Only models that are painted wholly within the month are eligible to enter (i.e. unpainted or only primed at the start of the month). Entrants are not required to post a photograph of the model before painting. If you have a question as to whether or not your model qualifies, please feel free to post in this thread.
  3. You may join the painting deathmatch in progress at any time, but must submit photographs of the completed miniature by midnight GMT, 31 October 2015. WIP images are welcomed and encouraged.
  4. Miniatures that are completed in time will be eligible to win the deathmatch. The deathmatch winner will be decided in a separate voting thread by the Heresy Online community. Votes should be cast not simply on painting skill, but on merit, including creativity, application of painting techniques, individual artist improvement, etc. The winner of the deathmatch will be awarded with the Mark of Slaanesh award.
  5. Winners from the previous month are able to participate in the next months painting deathmatch, but they are not eligible to win in consecutive months.

This is not the year long Army Painting Challenge, but a separate Monthly event. Though entries in one can also be entered into the other (assuming it fits into the category chosen for this deathmatch).

Good luck to all participants!

PS - If you have any feedback on the running or structure of the monthly deathmatches throughout the course of the next month, please comment in the Calendar thread as we will take into account any feedback.

Wow these entries are just stunning. I particularly like that slaughter priest, I'm considering getting one for my Khorne Chaos 40k army now as well.

He's right about the category. However, if a monster is based on a 40mm base it is fine. Similarly vehicles of similar size not on bases.

I've been sorting out a bunch of other stuff, so didn't notice some of the entries are borderline.
@Loli: what are the dimensions of the vehicle?
@Hellathos: what size is that base?
@HokieHWT: what size is that base?
@Roganzar: the miniature is fine, but the gateway thingy won't count as part of the entry

I'll extend the contest until midnight 2nd November to give people a chance to confirm dimensions, failing which I'll make my own determination of eligibility.

If the Daemonbeast is on a DV bike base then it's 25mm x 70mm. http://www.games-workshop.com/en-SE/Citadel-70x25mm-Oval-Bases

The Venator tank is somewhere between Leman Russ and Land Raider sizes.

And the stonehorn is mounted on a base that is different from its default one. Looks like a 100mm circle base to me but i may be wrong. They're normally on 100mm x 150mm rectangular bases.

looking pretty darn good, everybody.

No problem. To be fair if you work out the volume of the bike base it's only marginally over the threshold. 40 x 40 = 1600mm vs 25 x 70 = 1750mm and that maths doesn't take into account that the corners are rounded on your bike base so it actually takes up less area.
Heck if i do the maths properly your base area is
pie1.25 squared + (4.5 x 2.5) = 4.91+11.25 = 16.16 or 1616mm squared
So in total your base only takes up 16square milimeters more than a square 40x40 base.
