I think you will be fine, however I will repeat it, ask the TO before and ask what changes need to be made in order for it to be "legal". It looks good though and I would play against it any day.

Another cool set of legs can be taken from the AT-43 models. I don't remember the race name. here are a few pics.

My only issue would be that they look too industrial to be Necron. Otherwise, that model is 100% badass.

Its the same reason I can't use Cryx for a conversion- Looks too industrial.

I would go along with Deathklok on this one, once they're painted people who say it's a cool looking model but I seriously doubt anyone would call you on what % of the model is GW or not. I doubt even in a GW store they would call you out unless it has a really strict manager, most people I've seen wouldn't really mind.

Another option would be to add some necron bits to the outsides of the legs, that way the most visible surfaces of the non-GW parts have GW parts covering them.

I found this Triarch Stalker the other day and I'm waiting to get my hands on a ghost ark kit soon and do it myself... I think it looks pretty cool and is 100% GW.

Last I heard the requirement is 50% for conversions, did that change?

If they call you on the legality of using a suitable proxy for a model that doesn't even exist then I say you take your business to a less insane companies tournament scene.

GW doesn't sponsor tournies anymore so I doubt it'll be a problem.

As I said once it's painted all you have to do is say you scratch built it. No one will have the balls to call you on it.
