Default Talons of the Emperor

Quote:
Clad in baroque, golden artificer armour and armed with priceless relic weaponry, the Talons of the Emperor are joining the battlefields of the 41st Millennium.

Rules for using the elite Adeptus Custodes, Sisters of Silence, their vehicles and two brand new detachments (one each) in your games of Warhammer 40,000 will be available very soon, both in this box set and as separate digital downloads.

The personal bodyguards of the Emperor himself have come to quell the Gathering Storm; this is your chance to lead them into battle.

To be honest I could not use any other contemptor as a custodes dread other than the gorgeous forgeworld dread

Honestly, all this stuff was already out. Makes the release a bit lackluster, even if the big box is good value if you need all of the things in it... Then there's the separate boxes, which are pretty much as expected so not much excitement there either. They could have jazzed things up a bit by at least creating a small upgrade sprue for vehicles though. Separate Land Raider and Rhino coming in basic version only with no extra sprue at all, and an Ultramarine transfer sheet? Not sure they even repackaged them, but that's just lame.
Khorne's Fist likes this.

Ask not the Eldar a question, for they will give you three answers; all of which are true and horrifying to know.

SoS are very cool, and I like that we have plastics for them (though we might have had them before and I just didn't know). That being said, I would much rather they have plastic SoB. Still going to pick up a squad of SoS, though.

EDIT: On second thought, the SoS look a bit lackluster as far as the details go. I'm not entirely sure if I'm 100% sold.

The Website kept telling me that my profile was only 80% complete without creating a signature. Ain't no website going to tell me I was a lazy shit, no sir.

Completely agree. I approve of GW releasing plastic Custodes and SoS, but the quality of the Forge World kits for their vehicles and dreads means that I would never even consider not using the Galatus and Achilles Dreadnoughts or the grav-tanks. Plain Contemptors, Land Raiders and Rhinos are not good enough for an army of the Legion of Ten Thousand, it must be the awesome stuff that sets them apart from the Chapters that gets used in their armies.

Yea this release should never have bothered with the "venerable" vehicles (just a repackage with a gold spray painted box art - and come with Ultramarine transfers?)

Very disappointed
