The story so far........

During the second stage of the Galus Crusade, most of the battles were fought within the core of the Galus System. These were the planets closest to the Galus Star. The Imperium made some tremendous gains during these short few years. Most notably was the retaking of Galus IV. The fourth planet within the system was totally within the grasp of chaos with advanced stages of becoming a Daemon world evident. That is until the heroics of one lone Space Marine Chapter master and a few companies of space marines took on the challenge.

Karmichael of the Armageddon Sons led raid after raid to the planet's surface starting in the planet's capital city of Ifkovits. With each success the Crusade's then leadership pledged more support and soon the forces of chaos were all but removed from the planet. While Karmichael never did find and banish the foe known to the Imperium only as the Butcher, the planet slowly shed the corruptions of chaos.

Shortly after the moral boosting victory upon Galus IV, Inquisitor Lord, Xavier Sing, overseeer of the entire Galus Crusade renamed Galus IV Karmichael's Way after the honored Chapter Master.

Many years have past since these events. The Crusade has moved past this section of the cluster. While the purging crews have declared Karmichael's Way safe for inhabitants the Inquisition has yet to put their seal of approval upon the subject.

Over the last few years the Galus Crusade has suffered some mighty losses as well as gained some tremendous wins. Of these losses, none glow stronger than the loss of Faith horizon, the Fortress World of Calgary where the Crusade's leadership used to reside. The ruthless and cunning warmaster, Atoch the Merciless, spearheaded a combined assault by thousands of chaos war bands into the system and overtook the fortress world with ease. To make matters worse for the crusade, the crusade commander Hels, was killed during the final assault upon the Palace. This had been the most unified chaos front seen to date during the Galus Crusade. Certainly this is a bad sign of things to come.

This brings us back to the main Galus Cluster and Karmichael's Way. With the Crusade's leadership in disarray and their attention turned elsewhere, Karmichael's Way has been left unattended to. Currently there are less than 100 guardsmen garrisoned upon the planet. The Cunning forces of Chaos have seen this as a weakness and now move to retake the planet that they feel is rightfully theirs. The initial raids proved successful in cutting off supplies as well as testing the strengths of the garrisoned troops. Soon all out attacks upon the planet commenced. The war was short as the garrisoned forces quickly eliminated.

Sing understood fully that loosing Karmichael's Way without a fight stacked upon the loss of Faith Horizon would doom the Crusade entirely. Without care of the expanses made elsewhere within the system he ordered almost all of the forces present within the crusade to converge upon Karmichael's Way. He vowed they would not lose the planet for a second time.

Intro

Welcome to the 2008 version of the Big F'N Game. By now, most of us have attended one of these galas of 40k action. If so, then most of this will seem very familiar. Stick with us here as we have made some changes to the format. If you are new to the event the that is great. Thank you for choosing to attend Big F'N Game.

First, let me tell you that this is NOT a tournament. There isn't a grand prize winner for winning all your games or having the best-painted army. Your main focus should be to have fun. This should be on the minds of every player attending. The Big F'N Game will play as if an 8-week campaign all crammed into one day. Sounds daunting doesn't it? Rest assured that it will all fit nicely into the context of the day.

This year we have Apocalypse at our disposal unlike years in the past. This is both good and bad. Good as we can now harness the power of the big game that almost everyone attending likes. The bad side is not everyone likes the concept and they might shy away. We have gone the extra mile to squeeze Apocalypse into the game day without forcing any of our players to play it. Take a few minutes to read through the rules pack and you will see.

Thanks again for deciding to attend the best annual event in Michigan. Hope you enjoy and tell your friends about it.

Game Sign Ups

Upon looking at the game schedule, you will see that we have a lot going on. This year unlike years in the past, we will have three separate sign in periods throughout the day. During these times, you will register for the games you would like to play in and their appropriate time slots. It's pretty simple and once you get there, it should work smoothly. This helps if you are unable to arrive at the beginning or need to leave midway through the day.

Army Lists

The size of the games we will be playing will vary throughout the day. To play all day you should bring the following lists.

1000 x 2
1500
1850
2000
2500

In addition, there will be Apocalypse games going on as well at the same times as these games. These have limited seats so make sure you are signed up for one if you would like to play.

3500 x 2
4000

Army lists for the standard 40k games should be made using the standard force chart. Apocalypse lists should be made using the format within the Apocalypse rule book. Please remember that the intent is for everyone to have fun. Keep this in mind when constructing your army lists.

"There is no peace among the stars, only an eternity of slaughter and the laughter of thirsting gods."

Army Lists Allowed

Any in print codex will be allowed. This includes Dark Eldar 2nd edition, Space Wolves, 13th Company, Armoured Company, Armoured Battlegroup, Blood Angels, Renegade Imperial Guard, Krieg Imperial Guard, Elysian Drop Troop, D-99 Elysians, and Red Scorpians. If there are any questions regarding what army list you can bring email the question to vachirkhan@wideopenwest.com

Data Sheets Allowed

Anything from the Apocalypse rule book, Imperial Armour Apocalypse, the GW website, Bell of Lost Souls or the official Galus Crusade Data Sheets will be allowed.

Please note that any GW Datasheets or Galus Crusade Datasheets will supersede any from Bell of Lost Souls.

Forge World

As long as you have the model and the rules, you can pretty much use it. For normal games, you may not include Structure point or Gargantuan models. Flyers and emplacements are fine. Flyers will use the Apocalypse flyer rules unless their own rules dictate otherwise.

Basic Rules

You should have a copy of all rules that you plan on using. These rules must be the most current version of the rules. If you do not have the correct rules for the models you are using my be asked to remove the model or models from play.

Heroes of the Galus Crusade

We have developed a set of rules for designing your own characters to fight within the Galus Crusade. There are strict guidelines for using these characters within your games. If these guidelines are not followed, you will be asked to remove the character from the game or to use the character as the base selection that it was built from.

DONE sorry for too much posting, but I wanted to break it up. I thought it would be better that way.
