Default Mass Effect 3 Co-Op

Seems like something which will without doubt add a lot of replay value.

As its the final chapter for Shepard, I think they wanted something to add the replay value like you said, so it keeps the game in the public eye for longer. That way when they bring out a new one, it'll be more likely to sell.

That being said, i just want some decent co-op. And long as well, not short, 10 minute missions. Its a squad based game, make it as such.

Mass Effect 3 will be awesome though. 1 & 2 were the best games I have ever played, easily both in my top 10, especially for the story and gameplay which tie so well together.

This is welcome for me, always thought it would be great with co-op. Hopefully though this game doesn't bomb on the plot execution like 2...god, i could have written something better...

"If there is any primarch who should have never been found, its Lorgar. Why? Two words. Hours Hersey"
"It was a 1......why was it a 1!"
Yes, I do play orks, yes, I do have quite a few boys on the table, and yes, it does take me a while to move them...got a problem with that...

This seems cool

Let's hope that they do it properly and we get something along the lines of Halo Co-Op (i.e GOOD Co-Op )

Details!

http://uk.xbox360.ign.com/articles/119/1199462p1.html

It seems like a really good Co-op experience, and it has its own team dedicated to it. Basically, you take control of some sort of black-ops characters, and they're doing their own thing in the war against the reapers, and it will all end in some huge battle. Think how Mass Effect 2 ended - you build your team, did their personal missions, got them focussed, but if you rushed it, they wouldn't be as prepared mentally. I think it's along those lines, that these covert missions will aid in the final battle, the more you do the better your chance. It says you can choose from various races (playable turians!) and you'll upgrade and improve your co-op character and choose his weapons etc.

Sounds like a really cool offshoot, and shows how the wider galaxy-wide battle is panning out.

Don't be so sure. EA has their Bioware lackeys by the balls (death grip style) and with their maximum 2,5 year development cycle, (they can't be any "worse" than Activision) they can't make a high polish game without inventing some machine to spew out random plot changes through arithmetic.

Which is why all Bioware games are so same-y now. Dragon Age: Origins and ME are really similar in plot structure. No, let's not kid ourselves, identical.

Anyway, one can say what they want about ME and other Bioware games, they still hold great entertainment value, and I'll probably pick up ME3 when it hits the bargain bin for me and my brother.

Since I'll be playing The Secret World starting april, won't really have time for any other games.

I am struggling, seriously struggling, to see how you could think that. Dragon age 2, I could see an argument with evidence. But Origins and ME having the same plot structure?! I mean yeah they both have an impending doom and the main character fights to stop it, but so does numerous games and films. And that is the only link I can see between them in plot structure.

Oh come on.

They have "impending doom" AND you must trek across the land/galaxy to assemble a team of specialists with skills that complete one another, with X amount of Y and Z type of love interests, culminating in a final battle where you are tested in how well you know each one of them and how loyal they are.

I don't know about you, but I completed my first connect-the-dots puzzle when I was 3.

You're aware there are only 5 basic types of stories in literature right?

Beyond that Bioware makes their games in a similar fashion because that is what their fans want. Their fans want games with a custom PC, dialog paths, many different love interests, and a group of companions. If you don't write a story that works off of the gameplay elements your fans want your going to fail.
