Default Gow 3

Im suprised to find only one thread on gears here (with not nearly enough hits)

Anyway since this is the most awesome games for a long time (in my opinion) i wanted to know what people think of the finished product.

I played the beta and the only two complaints i have is that the new trenches map isnt nearly as cool as the old one and the retros recoil is insane at best. (doesnt stop me using it)

I love most of the other parts like horde, which has been made much better and beast mode is great albeit a littlebit short. Wingman is my fave (mabey why im 20th in the world ; P)
But then i am a bit biased having pre odered limited edition and the life sized retro

Anyway, any thoughts?

Horde mode is great. Beast mode is great. Campaign is great (though it sucks that Dom died instead of Clay. Fuck Epic in that regard) Though Clay Carmine is a bad ass, he or Jace, or Sam, or hell, maybe even Dizzy (how he survived Gears 2, i'll never know), but not Dom man. He was awesome. So in his honor (its a game, I know, but he was cool man.) I use the Commando Dom skin the most. At the moment, i'm using the Clayton Carmine skin.

Oh well, at least he didn't die like Anthony or Benjamin Carmine. His death actually accomplished something.

The popularity of cover based shooters with regenerating health and writing inspired by Sesame street is dwindling, it has been for the past year or two, and hopefully soon they are an extinct breed.

This would explain why there isn't much hype

RALEIGH, NC – The final “Gears of War” game from Raleigh-based Epic Games has sold more than 3 million units globally in its initial five days on the shelves, according to VGChartz. The figures make Gears of War the most explosive game launch this year.

VGChartz reports the game made it to the top ten of game launch weeks, coming in a sixth for a game on Microsoft’s Xbox 360.

The final Gears of War chapter outsold the total for both previous versions, which racked up sales of 13 million combined.

I take it your a halo fan ; P

HAHA not even close! And "most explosive game" this year isn't that much of an achievement, there haven't been any big games at all so far this year, the biggest was Deus Ex HR and that's for the RPG/Shooter fan who are generally smart enough not to pre-order games at all.

I'd say Rage, as long as it's good, should blow Gears out of the water when it comes to sales. That is, unless the maker of Gears have done a double backpedal and made a good game once.

Its good. Even being a big fan i always expect a 3rd or 4th edition of a game to be over the top and just a try hard but i was quite happy with gow 3

I am not impressed. Modern Warfare 3 should wipe the board there.

Never understood how it's "smart" not to pre-order games. If you're going to buy it anyway you may as well.

To the topic. The ending was lame.

I thought Carmine was the best character in the game.

In the end all three games felt the same.

All this means is at E3 in 2 years epic games is going to unveil a "New Trilogy" and it'll be Gears of War 4.
