Tac marine here.Stalker bolter+twin bolter,best record is 14 kill streaks...
This game is fun and easy.

Remember,hit and run is best for tac marine,use your"A "button more offten.
And,whenever you see a raptor descending,runnnnnn.The hammer will kill you only one hit.
And don't fuck with deva maine face to face,run and hide,then use sniper to give him a little surprise.

Most of all,stay closer with your brothers.This game in kind of BC2 type,so don't try to be a hero.


PS when 5 or 6 good raptor players come together...nothing could stop them.

I'll have to at some point. At present, though, I'm playing on the the US server as for some reason, Virgin Media users on all the EU servers are getting hit by godawful packet loss and lagspikes every couple of minutes. Makes the game just about unplayable when you're liable to become target practice at random with no forewarning.

I should probably start playing champs other than GP and Orianna more often, though!

When it's settled, though, I'm considering trying to get a team together to possibly take on the open tournament at Insomnia 46 next summer. Probably won't win, but I figure it could be a bit of a laugh.

thats the mentality of todays generation though, it doesn't matter if its video games or the board game of 40k, developing skill to win is slow and boring for todays computer and wargame players, and why bother when you can just take an easy to use point and click choice, and just keep at it because its easy.

See, there's the problem. A stagnant metagame, as most complaints are about game balance.

You're bitching about people being too lazy to 'develop skill to win', but clearly can't be bothered to develop a counter to the mostly commonly chosen class/build/strategy of your opponents. Therefore, the problem lies solely with you, the people with the problem, and it's up to you to come up with said counter. This is the evolution of competitive gaming and the metagame behind it. It's the same thing you see all the time about games. "Bawww, they're camping. Camping takes no skill." "Oh noes! They've got the quad!" "Terran OP*".

Adapt or die.

It's very rare that there is a truly overpowered build or item, there is only a lack of will to put effort of your own in to beat it.

*Dem OP mules ;).

I occasionally see this problem, but just as often I play matches with a fine balance of all 3 classes.

Most lower level players seem to gravitate towards Devastator or Assault once they're unlocked but then, the majority, come back to using the Tactical class. That's exactly how I played it myself, I was always using the H.Bolter and then after about lvl10 I started using the Bolter more and more.

I tend to vary my choice of class depending on the level I'm playing. On the bridge I use assault, Basilica I go Tac, on the hab bloc I go devastator, etc. Each map suits a different class, and any time I try to mix it up I usually end up getting slaughtered.
