Combat is too 'hack and slashy'. As something that was marketed as a TPS with a heavy slant towards hack n' slash melee, it can't be TOO much like it
The guns don't feel powerful enough, and feel too loose with aim. Get better with aim, they seemed fine to me. As for the 'feel', it is more important in a game to have game balance than the one-shot almost-promised kill of a Lore bolter.
Melee combat aim is off. Your aim is off. It's fine for everyone else I've talked to and for myself.
Executions to regain health are boring. Better than regenerating health, no questions. Also, don't forget that you have access to one melee weapon, no doubt with many upgrades not added to the demo.

Also, the jetpack, while fun to pull a 'death from above', like executions, got dull quickly. Clearly, you're far too mature. Cannonballing into a pile of Orks and sending them flying NEVER gets old
This is probably the best third person shooter since...Well...Actually, I can't think of any better, from playing the demo. It just feels 'right' as a game. If anyone's expecting the feel to be exactly true to lore, they need to get their head out of their arse and remember that gameplay is more important that 100% adherence to background. Artistic licence, when taken for balance, is always for the better.

And as an addition, as TB says in that video, this is NOT a shoddy console port. This is a brilliantly made game that just-so happens to be multi format, as Relic are a bunch of badasses.

Now that's out of the way, they can get back to important things like making Homeworld 3.

All in, it feels like a rainy afternoon boredom killer rather then an OMG Must Play.
to each their own.

- yes the single player feels Linear in this demo.
- The Combat is 'hack and slashy' but I expect it to be, its SPHASS MAREENS!
- what are you expecting? godmode with one bullet killing a million orks?
- sorry but I dont see how you had issues with "melee combat" I loved it and it worked so well
- Auto regen health is boring.

Im sorry, but I completely disagree, after you get used to the death from above ability, I think it would be amazing to pull off, particularly in multiplayer.

I find death from above too powerfull on normal in singleplayer. Even on hard. I didn't fire one shot/used chainsword once in that level. Though cause it will be probably used ocasionally during the game, that's ok.

I agree about autoregen health, that's one thing I hate in modern games.

Just played through the demo and LOVED it. While it was downloading I was reading what everyone was saying and to be honest, was losing a little bit of excitement. Then I played it and found it to be fun as hell! Only thing that I would have to say I hate about it is that now I've played the demo, I want the REAL game NOW!

Thing is, I enjoyed a game a lot, can't wait for it to come out, and fears I had didn't prove to be right. But some things could be better, and if it wasn't 40k game, I wouldn't find it that good.

I don't know why everyone compares it to Gears, I found gears boring and didn't even finish it, which is rare. It had good gameplay but I didn't care a bit about characters.

And I'm kinda bored with cover system that seems to be so popular now. It worked fine in ME2, but I find that one button autosticking to the cover is to easy. I like games where you have to move around and use objects around more.

well, all of us here know thats the feel of a space marine. if this was a demo of anything else, we would all be screaming for cover and faster moving, etc. aka: playing exactly like every other damn game, which we DONT need.

I agree, I just think they maybe should have made game little more complex.

any more complex and it would be too much for the SPHESS MAREENS little battle ready brains to handle though. they are bred and programed to fight, not to think.

Anyone else find that power axe? Things badass! On the Inquisitor level (the first one) when your waiting for the lift, it's (if your facing where the lift comes up) on the left. Your executions change and the way you hit changes. It's also just a little bit tougher than the chain sword.
