Default Deus Ex 3 released in two weeks. Anyone else excited?

This will be genuinely the first PC game I've been excited about being released since I left school (6 years ago). It will also be the first game since WOTLK that I have bought on the day of release.

Who else will join me in playing the latest chapter of (in my opinion) the greatest game of all time: Deus Ex?

Frankly, I am going to be quite surprised if it doesn't suck, but we shall see.

I'm normally the first one to come out with the "Critics are morons" line, but PC gamer gave it 94%... *waggles eyebrows*

And i've read about leaked alpha(first 10 hours of the game aprox., which came out few months ago). People who did download it liked it. I didn't want to try it, cause then I would have to wait too long for the rest of the game.

Also campaign for the game was excellent, with fake commercials, seraf industries site etc. It don't have to have anything with quality of the game, but I have high hopes for this one.

Never played any of them. It looks like it could be good but I'm not fully sold on it yet. It's currently sitting on the bottom of my gamefly list.

Deus Ex 2 was an abysmal travesty when compared to Warren Spectors wonderful original - The first Deus Ex blew me away as a masterclass in how to set up an RPG game with action without sacrificing either elements, I mean simply being able to kill one of the hard core bosses later in the game by choosing not to fight but hacking your way through systems to find his *killswitch* voice command, something I didnt know existed untill my 3rd playthrough, trust me anyone who hasnt ever played the game should pick it up.

As for this new one, it *looks* the part but will remain to see what it plays like - fingers crossed i'll find out on release day.

That's just it. Invisible War was a BRILLIANT game in its own right. It's just a shame that it had to be compared to the original.

Having played the early, unfinished and incomplete alpha, I can quite comfortably say that this is the best game since the release of the original a decade ago. NOTHING else has come close, this works pretty much perfectly. There's nothing as a Deus Ex obsessive that I can find about it that I don't like or that doesn't work. This IS this decade's Deus Ex, so it's only suitable that it's a successor to the original.

Yeah I am really diggin on this game as well. I will be getting it for sure.

one thing I want is the ability to split my fire everywhere, it makes no sense that a squad of 10 guard or marines or whatever all have to fire at 1 target with everything, is the guy with the lascannon not smart enough to realize maybe he would be better off firing at the massive tank looming overhead instead of the little man no bigger than a squat running at him, or is that far too complex for the 10yr olds?

Invisible War was an acceptable console game, however it really really didn't work on the PC. It should have been a PC game ported to the Xbox rather than the other way round, and then it might have worked (open environments, better inventory/weapon ammo system etc).
