So, played two custom games last night and it was ok nothing special. though I enjoyed it some what.

LoL has a better in-game store. . HoN's store is freaking confusing!! and you lose gold when you die was a bit depressing.><

other than that. 7/10 from me =P

Well, typically they release champions somewhat overpowered and then tone them down over time, but they get balanced quickly. New champions won't be played competitively unless it's some kind of all-in gambit, solely as it takes a while to learn all the nuances of builds for a champion and what will work best when money's on the line.

In general, though, Riot do a damn good job at keeping a sweeping balance by default, but leave various openings through gear and stat stacking to create hilarious imbalance. That's no fault on Riot in the slightest, though. That certain characters like this will seem imba is solely the fault of the players for not experimenting with the item metagame to combat what they find. It's the fault of these players for refusing to be flexible with their builds to create these counters.

On another note, 100% Crit Tryndamere and Gangplank are awesome. :D

THAT is one of main points. You deny enemy carries farm by killing him, same goes for suicide dives which gets you killed. And talk about denying too. List will go on, but same was in dota. LoL is just more streamlined everywhere, get gear and finally rape, when you get penalised for dying it brings another aspect inside game.

And they should bring penalty down to MMO games aswell. Not just die, spawn, repeat.

LoL, while not to everyone's taste, has a better overall balance on the 'easy to pick up, bastard to master' scale, from my experience. Also, LoL is MUCH better geared towards competitive play, which is always a bonus.
Missed this post it seems.

You are right on following:
- Easy to pick up. It has great tutorial

Wrong at following:
- Competitive play. HoN is more competitive players game than LoL is, by LONG shot.

You cant even watch replays of your last games in LoL and even if you watch it would be complite snorefest. I looked few tournament videos of LoL in past and its nothing but boring. Seems that even commentators werent real experts of this game. Or even mildly entertaining...

Go check on HONCAST its videos and you might see some REAL competitive plays, with GREAT commentary and also they host some casual games.

Item builds on LoL are just a joke, cause you can stack like hell. Add to this pulling, denying, stacking, ward play with counterwarding, Kong, Rune control play, Towers that mean something, No barracks respawn, faster gameplay, more meaningfull heroes with vastly different abilities.

LoL is good game, but it never has meaningfull mechanics that HoN has. All those different things adds to metagame and through this competitive aspect is great. You can atleast download and watch your last games in replays, download top rated clans gamevideos and watch them.

LoL only has more players cause its been released as totally free and generally its way much easier to play. Onlything that it has better than HoN is a good tutorial and good shop.
