Default Reminder - 40K: Kill Team released today

THQ:

Xbox Live Marketplace
http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/Pr...5-d80258410b52

Just picked this up for the Xbox360 (Xbox Live Arcade) for 800pts, or aproximately 10$ US. It's a single/co-op (local only) dungen-crawl style with some light puzzles and objectives. It is set across 5 stages and sets the tone for 40K: Space Marines (releases Sept).

You've got access to 4 classes of Marines and each level is re-playable for high score/loot/etc. There is also a suvival mode which is pretty slick. I swear the narration sounds like Patric Stewart just chillin... You also unlock DLC for 40K:SM if you end up picking it up for Xbox360/PS3 instead of PC.

Lots of pew pew and visuals for 10$. THQ already has most of my money these days, whats 10$ more

It can be a fun game but it does have plenty of issues:
-Unskipable cut scenes
-Buggs, especially with the camera angle
-Terrible Checkpoint system
-No online co op, and when you do play co op, your friend won't earn any achievements as you can't sign in another profile.
-TERRIBLE checkpoint system
-No Space wolves, Black Templars, Dark Angels etc, only 7 chapters to choose from and there are some BIG ones missing.
-No chaplains, Apothecaries, scouts, terminators (ok terminators would be too easy, but would be good for an end game bonus or something)
-The librarian is almost identical to the vanguard, they should be more powerful at range.

Bah?! You suckers bitch about lack of chapters? I for one react to the fact that there seems to be no Deathwatch, which honestly, should be the one organisation that should be in the spotlight in this game.

And you would honestly send a chalpain to blow that thing up? Tactical marines fit far better, but we did not get tactical marines.

I get the feeling this is a test run for a new type of game that THQ might be considering to branch the 40k IP into later on and they just wanna see what kind of reaction they get from it.

Same engine as 40K: Space Marine, although lower res textures and models. The game is designed to be a cheap arcade shooter, however has already exploded on XBL and is *very* popular at the moment. I've got non-WH playing friends at work (Microsoft, Charlotte NC) who have gotten all into it and want to know more about the 40K universe

The THQ UK team that made this content has been disbanded however...not sure how that will affect any future release in this same sub-class of arcade shooters.
