So long as there is a monthy fee, I can't see myself playing it. This may be an exception but I doubt it.

one thing I want is the ability to split my fire everywhere, it makes no sense that a squad of 10 guard or marines or whatever all have to fire at 1 target with everything, is the guy with the lascannon not smart enough to realize maybe he would be better off firing at the massive tank looming overhead instead of the little man no bigger than a squat running at him, or is that far too complex for the 10yr olds?

I'm soo there

And the interview quote of the day (I'm guessing he was referring to Nightbringer?)

"I mean what could be better than a Grim Reaper beheading an Orkish Squiggoth?"

I spent a good portion of my day thinking about this rather than doing what I was supposed to, and I, for the life of me, cannot see how they're going to pull it off and have it be worth playing. The balance of 40k is far too fine to have individual people running around. Space Marines would always win.

I think it'll be more along the line of an Inquisitor or Necromunda campaign myself. With the rest of the 40k universe being a backdrop to that. I could be totally wrong, but thats how i'm envisioning it right now.

My insomnia has pointed me in the right direction. If these guys are smart, they'll look at how Galaxies handled an almost impossible balance between all the massive amounts of Star Wars lore.

Make the starting options real simple. No one starts as a Marine. Rather, you start as an IG recruit and at one point choose continue with the service or try your hand at becoming a Marine.

The only problem would be that if you didn't make it, fluffwise, that dude'd be dead.

I'm sure it's been thought of already, and that's cool too.

Regardless, I'll give it a shot. In beta, atleast.

For an astartes to fit in a 40k mmo, you'd have to be an exiled marine or send on a redemption quest. Maybe they'll make all marines come from the Executioners, Lamenters, and Mantis Legion, as they are all on penitent crusades and can be anywhere anytime.

I think that it may not be like a single line at all. Instead, it may be similiar to Star Wars Battlefield, or Counter Strike in that you launch right in, and when you die, you come back in as re-inforcements, but over a series of campaigns.

If anyone ever played Return To Castle Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, you had a re-spawn timer, but you could choose what kind of marine class you were.

Say you could have a basic marine, flamer equipped, or heavy weapons w/ a random heavy weapon.

Then say, that as you kill, you gain xp points in certain areas of being a marine. As you advance through a cyclical say, 6 maps, you retain ur xp points and get better stuff.

Quick turn around, non-stop action, and all set in the 40K universe. Only problem I see is, it'll be hard to let people play the particular race they want. You'd have to have campaigns amongst certain groups that reflect major fluff battles.

I don't know what they'll come up with, but you can be sure it'll be interesting!
