I don't know what kind of games you like, but if you 're into RPG, you will love them. I see you mentioned Elder Scrolls, if you like it, try Nehrim, its complete overhaul of Oblivion( with new story, setting and quest, it's really good). Only thing you need to play is Oblivion installed on your PC, you can download mod itself from their site http://www.nehrim.de/indexEV.html .

I love RPGs and that damn game oblivion sucked my life away for long long time(at least until I got hit by the damn Vampire glitch which they refused to fix on the PS3 version.) Yeah ill take gander at this recommendations. Im also a fan of dungeon crawlers and I absolutely loved the marve UA 2 game just felt too short IMO.

Eve = Gathering and Crafting MMO that has your ship auto attack at will in the rare battles you get into, more times exploring over doing anything fun.

Im sorry, but Eve sucks, I play a game to play a game, not to have the game play for me.

No, EVE is not a gathering and crafting MMO, it's much more, but I don't want to discuss with you about it really. We have different tastes, and you apparently missed the point or haven't put yourself really into it.

the amount of time required to get to anything thats more then auto play gathering is too much time to put into any game.

I did not devote months into it playing 'autoplay' gaming before it gets fun.

You can start doing pvp with just a frigate, and after few months you can become pretty competent with some ship. Skill points are not an Issue. Though sure, game has steep learning curve and don't hold your hand, you have to find your place in world of EvE. I guess it's just not game for you. But it does offer more possibilities for player than any other game around, where there is endgame which mostly consist of doing instanced, no consequence pvp or doing instanced PvE, while grinding for new gear. EvE is totally different game than that. So, I guess it's not fair to call it shite, as I didn't say SWTOR is shite, I just want more from game.

(and i said I'm not gonna discuss, almost wall of text)

Point Im making is that outside of the rare ship pvp battle, Eve is autoplay, and it takes a few MONTHS to get competent?

now while I believe wow took to the "casual" side way too much with the later expansions, it was not months before you were competent with a character in any game. in WoW, EQ, EQ2, DAOC, any normal MMO, learned the game in a fun way gaining abilities as you leveled up.

the Major issue WoW has is the lack of story making it a boring grind, Eve you can literally leave on all night to aquire resources, or with the right system, you can easily make it play itsself, even in battles, there was little required interaction with the game.

I do not find games with little to no interaction fun, if i want minimal interaction, ill watch a movie. Video games are supposed to pull you into the world, Eve has, for many people, not done so. WoW pulled more people in and its storyline is shit, why did it work well? because it gave people enjoyment from the begining of the game, and it may have helped people along slightly at first by making you learn skills slowly, but thats not a fault in gaming. the fault in WoW was lack of story and gameplay being too redundant at the end game.

The other issue I have had with almost any MMO is how long it would take to gain levels and abilities. I hated playing for 4 to 8 hours ata time and walking awya with like no XP or even leveling. The other thing drives me crazy is these guys who max the char. out and they keep using the char. why there is nothing more you can gain you have progressed as far as you can go, start over with new char. and play something you havnt played before and you might find more enjoyment in it part of a game is figuring it out, a reason I love some fighting games like the new MK and SF4 they were different from the originals but at the same time still played like the originals just with some extra goodies in there.

One other thing I learned when it comes to movies music and video games is that you cant always go by what you read about or what someone's opinion is on it , you have to find out for yourself and give it a whirl and make your own opinion.

very true, but I am not talking from word of mouth, I did try eve online, and I am mearly giving you a counter opinion to that of Fire Tempered, as he is obviously pro Eve.

I also agree with you on the people who try to stick to only one character, Im, personally, an Alt whore in these games, so I end up with the max characters im allowed, working on how they play learning everything.

You apparently didn't try PVP, which is core point of EvE. But, yes, it takes time to get skills, but as I said, they are not that important as you may think. Player skill and experience are more important that you think. I admit EvE is not easy to get into, but when you do, it offers most. You chose what you want to do, manufacturing, science, doing pve missions, science and research, exploring, joining large aliance and fighting for regions of space, etc whatever you like or all at once. I prefer classless, levelless, system in EvE than grinding for xp in order to reach max lvl, where real game starts. I hate WoW and it's clones where endgame consist of chasing gear, pvp have no point or consequences besides said gear. CCP games showed that different, niche game that doesn't try to please everyone like WoW can be successfull.

But to each his own. I don't want to persuade anyone, as you I just want to give counter opinion to SWTOR, WOW and similar games. TheSpore said he is bored with games like that, and I, after everything seen, do put SWTOR in WOW clone category. You may not agree, but I do have experience in games, and I do follow alot information about them, so I think my opinion is as valid as yours.

IMO, it's shame that games don't try to put some new concepts instead of trying to take over WoW concept and take it's playerbase. Of all new MMOs that are coming, I put most hope into GW2, at least it has dynamic and interesting concept and it differs from holy class trinity(dps, tank, support). At least that's what they are saying, we 'll have to see.
