Default Dawn of war vs Dawn of war 2

I had dawn of war gave from one friend from soem days. Now i got dawn of war 2.
Okay for the less races.Okay for smaller maps.Okay you can create your own chapter e.t.c. but what about the gameplay. Most units have less numbers in their squads, you can have six teams nor eight players. The missions arent so ncie now.So what of the two agmes missions do you prefere.

And so i shall come. The last "unwanted" necron lord.

I didn't understand a word of that thread, but I'm going by the title, so I'm going to have to say The First Dawn of War.

Although I can't really make a fair judgment as I haven't played Chaos Rising or Retribution, I guess despite the poorer graphics, the First Dawn of War is better for large scale games which I prefer, but the Second Dawn of War is great for skirmish ones.

Yeah, The First Dawn of War.

retribution has added alot more epicness to the dow2 franchise, and the unit abilities are cooler

s they run on completely different engines its hard to choose, I like them both but for different reasons

The origional DoW had better replay value, and was the much more tactical game. That said, DoW2 had much better mechanics and unit design, and the RPG element of it was much more fun.

For me, if you had the Dark Crusade style campains and comander wargear upgrades, but with the DoW2 gameplay mechanics of how the squads worked and upgrading with wargear and what armament builds your heroes could have, you'd have a near perfect game.

Judging by the amount of time that Retribution around has clocked for me (150h+) I will have to go with DoW II. Simply the best RTS game ever.

But DoW one is not far away... Especially the original with Gabriel Angelos is still my favorite campaign, nothing beats that one!

For the Blood Ravens, for Angelos, for the Emperor!

I haven't played dawn of war 2 yet, but I don't want to get it. I hear it has less races, less maps, no base building, and only up to 6 players in a game, which is in my opinion not as good as soulstorm.

I have played DOW2, It bored me.
In my opinion it should not have changed from DOW at all.
DOW1 was an excellent game made better with the release of its expansions. DC only improved on it. SS was a rush job which failed.

DOW2 moved too far from the original and, while it is made well, it is not DOW without Bases, huge maps, a multitude of units and an excellent multiplayer.
