But i'll still probably play the 40k MMo, if they dont botch it.

It'll will prolly blow WOW out of the water though.

Regardless of popularity, the 40k universe is just fucking rich with stories and possibilities.

The overall uninspired racial characteristics are what keep me away from WOW (that's what I call music! volume 14).

Dwarves are WHAT in Warcraft? Archeologists? I guess that's marginally cooler than them being zoologists or speech therapists.

i play WoW, i dont see how everyone doesnt seem to like it, the reason its good is because its NOT just a mob grind like all other online games atm, and if you get bored lvling theres other things you can do, like go kill some alli in thse wild or in a PvP arena.

i dont play continuasly for days on end though, i often have a month off or so and usually only really play on weekends anyway, but i think when W.A.R comes out, everything will change. (i hope) :D

Man, WoW scares me. My roommate flunked out of a community college playing it... he'd sit and play for 72 hours straight. He kept a George Foreman grill and a 'fridge by the computer, and he...relieved himself in the trash can.

I was actually Heavily addicted to this game since Alpha release till about 2 months ago.

The reason it so successful is because of the competitive nature once you reach level 60 or 70 if you play the expansion. The game is extremely Group oriented and you make friends easily. I live in vancouver and have met many people in my city in real life because of the game. I have actually considered taking a trip to toronto (4000km + away) just to meet some ppl i met online.

When i played i was a pimp and thats waht keeps alot of people playing. Id say about 30% of people who play want to be the best and are willing to do whatever it takes to be the best.

BTW if your wondering i was Thunderfury warrior PRE- BC server first bindings of the windseeker. Top fury warrior on the server. Many server first boss kills including Hakkar, Ony, Rag, Nef.

*** FOR YOUR OWN SAKE DO NOT PLAY THIS GAME IF U HAVENT ALREADY ***

If you do become addicited say goodbye to alot of time.

Are you fucking kidding me????

one thing I want is the ability to split my fire everywhere, it makes no sense that a squad of 10 guard or marines or whatever all have to fire at 1 target with everything, is the guy with the lascannon not smart enough to realize maybe he would be better off firing at the massive tank looming overhead instead of the little man no bigger than a squat running at him, or is that far too complex for the 10yr olds?

I'm an Archaeologist.

I'm not a dwarf though.

I'm glad you think that being an Archaeologist is even cooler than being a Zoologist; not sure if it's cooler than being a Speech Therapist though.

I've known people to lose their jobs over MMORPGs. Staying up late, oversleeping...skipping work to play, coming in all desheveled because they played until they came in to work.

Sad really.

Anything can be an obsession, but the online games where you have a lot of interaction with others...it's like crack.

I played WoW for maybe a year when it first started. Created as many characters as I could and got em all to 20 and dropped out (I like soloing, and it becomes a real bitch to solo once you hit the lvl 20 barrier). Not in to raiding and all that and grinding just bored the living hell outta me.

I played to 4am a few times on the weekends, usually when nothing else was going on.

Never played Evercrack. Played SWG for like, maybe a week. Blegh. I liked CoH/CoV for the character creation only.

I prefer my interation in games to be in-person.

I played Wow since the Alpha.
Back when you could only play as human and the level cap was 20.
It's not a bad game but it is simple. PvP added some intrest but ya.
the thing i hated was that it rewarded time played over anything else and you could not play it for 20 min and then do something else. you had to play for 4hours to get anything out of it at end game. I just recently quit a few months ago so ya. was scary how much time i spent on it.

Yeah, well the Space Marines never dropped forty thousand feet in a drop pod WITHOUT power armor.
