hey now thee first DOW was great i just havnt see too many games worth much though for 40k. I have squad command on the ds ive only playeed it souple of times i just dont ever have the time to play handheld games much.

Its better than fire warrior i guess which barely and i mean barely sated the FPS fan in me with 40k.
Now what they need to do is actually make a game that completely emulates the table top that would be kinda cool esspecially for those of us that dont ever really get the time to play

Good points:

AP Based actions, every move you make detracts from the amount of points to spend on shooting

Individual units have thier own AP count

AP is affected by whatyou take, a unit with just a bolter will have more available AP then a unit with Bolter and Shotgun

Wide weapon choice

Able to switch weapons for free, and can switch weapons multiple times.

Can move-fire-move, or move-fire-change weapon-fire-move (AP permitting)

Overwatch ability, end you turn with 4+AP and you automatically enter overwatch mode at the end of your turn allowing the unit in question to fire at the first enemy to come into range and LOS


Fun story line that starts small and ends big

Bad Points
All weapons can damage, and potentially destroy, vehicles/buildings

You cannot choose what units to take into battle, only thier equipment

Unlocked weapons cannot be used in previous mission replays, for example shotgun is unlocked at start of level 2, but cannot be used if you decide to replay level 1

Small amount of player units, you only get 8(?) units, some missions throw 30+ enemies at you meaning that you may have to use Hit-and-Run tactics which i wouldn't personally ascociate with Spess Mehreens

Overall impression
Not a bad game, i've played worse, but i've also played better. Personally i would add the ability to choose what units to use in mission (after you've unlocked them) and also be able to use unlocked weapons in mission replays.

And of course make the game longer, or more like age of empires/DOW to add replay value to it. YOu tend to reach the end of the game and unless you go online you think "what now?" and confine the game to the back of the games draw.
