MoH2 in progress?

More very late gaming news from yours truly.

It looks like Medal of Honor 2 is already in development, although EA won’t admit as much.

According to a job listing spotted by Gamasutra, Medal of Honor developers Danger Close, an offshoot of EA Los Angeles, is working on a new game.

Danger Close is reportedly “seeking a Lead Gameplay Engineer to work on an unannounced AAA first person shooter title.” The job listing goes on to say, “The title is early in development so this is an opportunity to be a key player on this major title.” The title is likely to be released on the PS3 and Xbox 360 as previous experience on these platforms is a necessity.

As Danger Close was formed specifically to create the single-player portion of the first game, this is surely no game other than Medal of Honor 2.

A sequel isn’t all that surprising as the game was a hit. OK, so nowhere near as big a hit as Call of Duty: Black Ops, but enough of one to warrant taking another bite at the FPS cherry. EA wants a piece of Activision’s action, and it clearly believes Medal of Honor is the way to go in order to achieve this.
Excellent stuff - story mode, despite it's shortness is outstanding.

In the next game, I'd like to see an expansion of game modes (CTF, King of the Hill, more Combat Mission Maps, a fun FFA set, Search and Destroy. Particularly a Search and Destroy type mission, combining the best of both with Combat Mission, barebones, maxed lobbies (where you automatically have everthing available, but get far slower experience).

I'd like Danger Close to work on both the SP and MP, and use a better engine than Unreal 3.

Challenges akin to the Contracts in BlOps (although more to do with esoteric attacks - such as Battle Rifle challenges being more than just X kills, try X hip fire kills, etc).

Destructible environs, more than just tree's. I'd like to be able to blow up wooden stairs yes I would.

4 Player offline coop (both story, Tier 1, and offline multiplayer)

Storyline gun customization*

Improved Checkpointing in Single Player

Larger maps

Cross Platform Profiles

Proper Weapon list and modification, including pretty much every known type in combat. Modifications should be much larger than a 3 Slot attachment; include Stock; Receiver; Sight; Left Rail; Right Rail; upper rail; lower rail; muzzle; magazine; ammunition.

so we gonna get another absolutely shite single player with piss poor AI, piss poor hit detection, below average graphics (making everything brown does NOT equal good graphics), poor gameplay and lousy characters added on to a lousy boring multiplayer?

wasting your time EA, the MOH franchise died long ago when it was good, and that was long long ago.

I didn't dig the first MoH Modern Combat, and really the series ended for me the first time I played Call of Duty way back when. With all the bullshit they went through with the first one, it's a surprise to me that they are making a second one. Maybe it's not an MoH, or it's MoH: Future Warfare?

While the graphics in MoH were outstanding, I finished the story mode set on hard in one sitting, and the multiplayer was so skewed towards snipers it was ridiculous. If they iron out these things maybe I'll buy the sequel.

KF's Journey Through His Plastic Crack Addiction. 40k, Flames of War, Bolt Action, and more.

I enjoyed the first one and as a result I look forward to playing the second one. Simple as. I always used an assault rifle online and got on just fine against the snipers, so it's no biggy for me.

The campaign was a piece of piss on the hardest difficulty though, so it'd be nice to see that fixed. It was short too, but I have no quarrels with the storyline itself.
