Default UT99

Unreal Tournament 99 is by far the best game ever made IMO.

It set the standard for all games to come, and the engine is brilliant.

Does anyone play it? I'd love to hang around some server if ya do. I play Instagib, and All Weapons. Zeroping of course!

Also--UT 2k4, ie Unreal Tournament 2004, is a game i will be buying shortly as my UT99 clan has discovered a mod that fully mirrors UT99, albeit with 04 graphics!

I never got into the UT games online, mainly due to the fact that during that time I was totally and irrevocably addicted to Day of Defeat. Man, if I could have had DoD on UT graphics.....mmmmm

one thing I want is the ability to split my fire everywhere, it makes no sense that a squad of 10 guard or marines or whatever all have to fire at 1 target with everything, is the guy with the lascannon not smart enough to realize maybe he would be better off firing at the massive tank looming overhead instead of the little man no bigger than a squat running at him, or is that far too complex for the 10yr olds?

I never really played it online because it's more of a fall-back game for me. It's not the kind of shooter I can sit down for hours and hours and hours and keep coming back for more because it just doesn't catch me enough. Also I found the online play, when I play it, rather boring because all people would do was the shock combo. It got old really fast.

I hope UT2k7 changes that.

you must be playing with the boring wannabe powergamer crowds, then. If you can find a half-decent server run by a good clan, you'll never need a different game. I played this game nar-constantly for years, and I still load it up every so often.

If only somebody could combine the brilliant game mechanics of UC2 with the online community of 2K4, Id never leave the house. Except maybe for food.
