Default Free Video Software Advice

Im looking for a free video editing software, need to be able to upload from a camera to the pc and then rough edit to go on to you tube/myspace etc.

any usefull advice will get 24 rep !

Wouldn't windows movie maker suffice?

Cinerella (for linux) comes to mind if you want the best of the best of video editing.
However, i don't gather out of your requests on what you want to do.

If you want to put a video together by pasting a few clips together and make a menu or what, DVD-flick would be enough. It should be able to process the files your camera makes and can make a neat lil menu, or add a subtitle.

Its for my brother, hes in a band and he wants to do some unplugged stuff to put on the net,he asked if i knew of anything, but i have to admit photos are about my limit, if it moves im pretty lost.

Might want to start looking at a torrent. Yes, it's not the most black and white way of achieving the end result, but combining Adobe After Effects with Adobe Premiere gives a decent result - and the workflows are pretty easy to work with, thanks to Bridge you get with both.

There are a shit load of tutorials, both free, and paid for (and you cn usually get the paid for ones for free).
