Default Civ V

I just got Civ V and will be giving my impression of it when I finish putting it on the 'puter and play a few turns.

Bitch #1 This game uses STEAM ... pisses me off that I have to download shit from a server when I have a friggin disc. WTF?

Played a few turns and it seems like it could be very fun. The hex thing will take some getting used to, but I think that I like that a little bit better. Your cities get three hexes out versus two squares out in the previous editions.

You can wait for your culture to expand and get the next hex or you can buy it. It only grows one hex at a time though not all the way around like in civ 4. Try it if you liked the other civ's as you will more than likely enjoy this one as well.

Played the 100 turn demo through a couple of times and I will be picking this one up for sure. I loved all the previous Civ games (and yes, Alpha Centauri is a civ game lol) and this one seem to be made of even more win.

one thing I want is the ability to split my fire everywhere, it makes no sense that a squad of 10 guard or marines or whatever all have to fire at 1 target with everything, is the guy with the lascannon not smart enough to realize maybe he would be better off firing at the massive tank looming overhead instead of the little man no bigger than a squat running at him, or is that far too complex for the 10yr olds?

I love the Civ games and apparently one of the units at the top of the tech tree this time is "giant death robot"... what's not to like.

Saw a friend playing this the other day and it looked pretty awesome. The intro-cinematic was amazing as well, but I'm not too fond of such games. Definitely recommended to any RTS fan, though. I'm just more of an FPS person.

Okay, that's all well and good, but let's get to the important stuff.

How long until someone forgets all this happy nation building shit and makes a Battletech total conversion?

I don't like it much. I didn't have enough money the day it came out, so I started playing it on my husbands steam account when he was at school. Bunch of shit. I have tried playing several times to get into it, but I am going to wait until all the expansions come out before I purchase it.

Game play is too slow, I did not find it very challenging, was bored before I got anywhere near the industrial age. Bunch of BS. I have been playing Civ IV again while I wait for the expansions, hopefully something is good.
