Default New SC2 Trailer

I'm not sure if this is a new trailer or one that has been out for ages. Either way, I'm excited.

Only a few days to go!

Terran Marines and Space Marines are similar only in appearance. Starcraft was released in 1998. The original 40k space marines are more than 2 decades old.

Not here dude. Its been said before in an older thread and the general view is this 40k came first, with Starcraft meant to be the 90s version of DOW, but GW pulled out, Blizzard kept the cncept, adapted the ideas to avoid copyright, and made Starcraft.

Starcraft players NOT knowing this often cause flamewars when they try to claim GW copied Tyranids off Blizzard's concept of Zerg, Marines -> Terran and Protos a Tau/Eldar Hybrid.

They are similar because they are MEANT to be the same, originally.

Grish

EDIT: ninjaed

Almost but not quite. Blizzard were hired to make a Warhammer game but GW pulled out of the project late on and that got turned into WarCraft with some simple name changes. Year's after they parted ways Blizzard decided to do a space based WarCraft, and hence Star Craft was born. The similarities between StarCraft and 40K stem from Starship Troopers to a great extent which both games are heavily influenced from.

Even if SC is a ripoff of 40k (which I've never seen proof of, but it's very plausible) who really cares? It's a brilliant game, that has had a huge impact upon the evolution of strategy games and essentially pioneered the use of hugely different, but balanced playable 'races'. And besides, it's not like 40k is original. GW has pretty much ripped-off every fantasy novel written since the dawn of time.

The entertainment industry is built on ripping off other people's IPs. All you need to know is that this game is gonna be fucking awesome and in a few days the nerd jiz will be running down the street in rivers.

Now lets get back on topic.

And one of the 'older' SC2 trailers:

These cinamatics are fucking awesome. Say what you want about Blizzard, but they can make damn good trailers.
