Sins of a Solar Empire is good, I like it. I still play Eve a lot though so I have my SPACEWAR on enough just now.

I would say Homeworld is one of my all time top RTS's, I think it lost its way a little bit with Homeworld 2 but it's still great.

The best thing about Sins is that you don't need minimal system requirements, amirite?

I prefer DoW. I enjoy the squad based combat, takes away a lot of the micro managing that most newer RTS' require.

Homeworld 2 is amazing as well, love anything that is space combat based.

I LOVE RTS games! My favorite has to be this old one called Dungeon Keeper II. It was released in 1999 and I think I was like nine when my dad introduced it to me in 2000 and I still love the game.

It is the most evil game I have ever played and I do love my evil characters. It's basically a top down dungeon simulator where you build different rooms that you carve out of the rock. The story is basically you are a demon from hell that has to kill the goodly heroes that keep watch over the underground realm in order to break through to the surface and conquer the world.

You do not directly control any units but you can create incentives for them or reprimand them like in other games of that sort.

Some of the unique things you can do include imprisoning goodly heroes you've defeated, starve them, and watch them turn into skeletons to fight for your wicked cause. You can torture them for information, or turn them to fight for you as they are. Some of the rooms you can build include gambling halls, graveyards (to summon vampires), and temples (where you can sacrifice units for blessings and dark angel units).

God I wish my discs for the game weren't all scratched up.

hmmm, rts... i prefer some of the older titles, such as total annihilation, force commander, the Dune games. heck, i think the latest RTS i own is soulstorm. thing is, i still play these games, whereas some of the more recent titles(supreme commander etc) i tend to tire of easily, guess its my rose tints lol

1. Clean out the stall of the mighty god-emperor
2. feed the god-emperor 1000 fresh bales of hay everyday.
3. flagelate yourself for 16 hours a day

Force Commander? Dear god...I played the death out of that game. I think if I attempted to play it now I'd throw up pixels everywhere and slip in to a coma.

still got it, still play it, nothing like an alternate story arc for star wars is there? its the same reason i like battle front:rogue thingamy on psp, the story we know and love with some gaps filled and extra filling. seriously though, my game collection reads like a release schedule from 1999 to 2004, with some older/newer games thrown in. its either down to me recapturing my youth, or my epic cheapness!

There are too many good RTS games, but my favorites have to be.
Age of Empires 2 with expansion, it's fun to play against friends.
Rome Total War. Simply put, I just love it.
Ofcourse there are other good games too, but those are the 2 RTS games I have played the most.
