Default Fantasy DOW

I've been thinking recently (dangerous I know), and I've thought about the original DOW games.

The main two things I've been playing recently are Dark Crusade, and Warhammer Fantasy with my Lizardmen and Orcs and Gobbos, and I thought, why don't they make a DOW style Warhammer Fantasy game? DOW is a very fun game, and Age of Empires/Battle for Middle Earth show that a fantasy based game of that style is a good idea and can be good. What do you guys think?

I'd love one with Empire, Orcs and Gobbos, Warriors of Chaos, High Elves and Dwarfs.

Later Expansions could be: Lizardmen and Skaven. Dark Elves and Wood Elves. Vampire Counts and Tomb Kings. Beastmen and Bretonnia. And possibly Chaos Dwarfs and Ogre Kingdoms.

Uber units may be in slightly shorter supply, especially for Bretonnia and Dwarfs, and a Vehicle cap wouldn't be to useful so it'd work better as having maybe a troops cap and special unit cap (for the non-troop units) with HQ units not included in that.

Possibly there could be other maps like Amon Hen or Helms Deep in Battle for Middle Earth in the campaign mode.

Of course units wouldn't rank up like the board game but I think it would be an enjoyable game.

'Huddle close to your Emperor if he makes you feel safe. He cannot save you for only Chaos is eternal'

Well, they actually have a Warhammer Fantasy game called Battlemarch. I'm not too big of a fan of Fantasy, but I borrowed a copy to play.'t good. The qualm I had was that it could have been 100 times better, and I'm not surprised you haven't heard of it. But to that end I completely agree that a solid Dawn of War style Fantasy game would be awesome.

I'm actually surprised they haven't yet.

It would be much better in the style of the total war games. if you haven't heard of them look up medieval total war or empire total war. it's the perfect system for fantasy.

I am the devourer of worlds and the plunderer of planets. I am the bane of races, the destroyer of intelligence. I am the omnipotent and you will all bow before me.

There actually is currently a Warhammer mod for Medieval:TW 2, but it is not fully translated and all that jazz yet.

But, I agree, the Total War system would be perfect for a Fantasy game, and I would definitely buy it.

Just as Warhammer Mark of Chaos (Battle March is the expansion) is not the frist Warhammer Fantasy video game, DOW isn't the first 40k video game- I actually like Mark of Chaos since it reminds me of an upgraded Dark Omen.

Dark Omen was awesome though!

Mark of Chaos isn't great, but given you can get it for like 99p now then it's a decent way to kill a few hours.

Eventually they'll release another one, we can only hope that it'll be better.

90% of people think they are above average.

Statistically Improbable. Psychologically Inevitable.
