On the plus side, they got the 40k thing down reasonably well with the DoW series. It just pisses me off that this game isn't going to be out on the PC, otherwise I'd probably buy it when it dropped to £10 or so.
Red Faction 2 was great, to be honest.

Good cyberpunky storyline and flawless multiplayer.

EDIT: found it, Clicky Linky video

EDIT2: oh and the gameplay video on youtube, was an original of the game before the plan went down and it was transferred to THQ

Thanks for the link Warlord !

Space marine looks really awesome and I wonder what they will do with the Multi-player. (Hoping Co-op Campaign or something similar to DOW's Last stand).

Red Faction Guerrilla was the most underrated game of 2009. The single player was...sub-par when compared to the previous games despite it's wicked destruction engine. GeoMod 2.0 was a huge innovation that seems to of gone unheard. But multiplayer was amazing. Easily one of the funnest I've ever played. Other big name titles like Call of Duty killed it, though. Hopefully the next installment brings back the series to its roots, as they said. What that means specifically is still to be determined.

However my concern with WH40k: SM is that it's primarily a button masher. It may look pretty, but from everything I've seen, it's just a button masher. Definitely not worth $60 if I have to 'stun' enemies with ranged weapons which forces you to kill them with QTE's or melee attacks. I'll keep my eyes open, but most likely I'll be picking this up in a year or two when it's $20.

I wouldn't be too worried about being Ultramarines caus THQ did that with the original DoW, the vid was for Ultramarines cause they were keeping the actual Chapter a secret. It might be the same for this.

And if you're going to post negatively read the other posts cause the original vid on youtube was a test that got scrapped, look at that, then look at the official vid. Kinda hard to stun people with a Heavy Bolter when you're blowing their face off. So I wouldn't be too worried about it being a button masher if you've actually watched the vid for it.

I also think that if they didn't put in co-op of some kind then the they'd get flamed, like BC2, 3 awesome team-mates screaming out to be played by friends but no. Anyway, a version of last stand would be pretty awesome, but might get flamed as a Horde wannabe unless its really good.

FWIW, the game is being developed by Relic now, which suggests it won't be an FPS... at least not just an FPS. So far, all we've seen from it seems to point at third-person (likely because first-person would be a bitch to do melee in) with added squad mechanics.

Story has you being sent to a Forgeworld to get rid of an Ork invasion ( and possibly those Tyranids nobody saw in the background ). Chaos will likely also show up at some point. Eldar might too... others, don't hold your breath.

As was already noted in the thread, the gameplay footage you may have seen was from another game by THQ Australia that was scrapped before it reached the alpha stage. Only the name survived.

Have a link to trailer and two screenshots ( yes, those are confirmed by Relic as being "pulled from the latest game engine not artwork" in February. )

Speculation on my part: As it's Relic, unless GW really wants the smurfs, the Chapter involved will likely be the Blood Ravens.

Ask not the Eldar a question, for they will give you three answers; all of which are true and horrifying to know.

I'm taking a wild guess that they will release more info on the game itself once the movie Ultramarine hits the papers. Maybe release the game right before the movie like how they do it with Transformer movies. Game...1 week later the movie is out.

I heard it will take longer time before release because they would add the co-op mode.

I dont want the smurfs, I want another chapter but I prefer the BR over smurfs at least.

You dont. THQ confirmed that they are just using Ultramarines as a poster Chapter. You can choose whatever chapter you want to be from the roster, which should include all the original Legions.
