Default Final fantasy 13 I don't like.

Oh my god this game kind of sucks I was so hyped to get this game and I get it and it turns out broken(figuratively speaking) long and tedious. Looks good but not substance. It's like a wonder bra makes 'em look all high and tight and when it comes off disappointment.

Eh, I liked it up to hour 5, felt the way you do up until hour 15 and now at hour 20 I'm loving it. The combat system flows nicely, the level up system beats the tar out of FF12 and the story is beginning to congeal into something very nice.

The lack of towns and side quests, especially compared to the glut of both in FF12 threw me for a loop, but now it's not as big of an issue for me as it seemed previously. It's not my favourite in the series by any means, but I'd put say it was definetly worth the buy.

It's more like watching a massive cutscene than playing an RPG, in my opinion. And this business of 'taming' summon creatures is extremely annoying. (Odin, anyone?)
Seems they got really damn lazy naming the characters too.

You'd be better off trading it in for Metro 2033.

Im liking it alot. Twelve was pretty much better in every way in my opinion but its still kinda cool too. It is like playing a big movie though up until about 30 hours in. So I can see peoples problem with it if they don't like sitting around watching lots of story.

I actually like the 'taming' summon creatures thing quite a bit. There have been other ones where you had to beat them to get them(and find them to do that) or even in 8 draw them. I like that they actually make you do other things in the fight to get some. And so far to me, odin was the second easiest(next to the shiva sisters) heh.

Stick with it, it might get more interesting to you, might not.

I never liked 12 as i thought the story was too convoluted. I really like 13 though, If you like the FF approach its great if you don't then you won't like this

After playing games like mass effect and dragon age, ff13 felt like one giant railroad.
The eidolons transforming felt stupid and unnecessary.
I don't know why but since 9, final fantasy feels a bit to fantastic to me with all the LSD floating castles and airplanes etc

I agree... it's WAY too damn linear! Final Fantasy games have always been about being able to move about and go wherever you wanted at almost any point in the game or go back and do something you forgot. XIII is just "start at point A and keep going to you hit point B and see the game over screen."

I agree about the cut scenes... my God, I gave up after about 2 hours and took it back to block buster really happy that I didn't buy it.

Yeah I take pictures of hot girls. Some one has to.
