Default Dawn of War 2 won't launch

I have the game on steam now, I gave back the disc to Best Buy because the game doesn't launch. The thing comes up saying "Launching Dawn of War 2", then it goes away, and nothing else happens. The DOW2.exe comes up under the task manager, but goes away after a split-second. I think it is something to do with Games for Windows Live, so I installed the latest version, checked files, all that stuff under properties for steam. It still does it.

Any help is appreciated. Sucks to have access to this game to have it not work.

Probably the Steam or Relic forumns would be better then here, but I'll give it a shot. First things first, you exceed the system requirments right?

When it happened to me it was because I was not meeting system requirments. (it was some other game) If you have DOW2 CR then I would say you also have original and it worked. A quick check on the net say the requirments are the same. Could be drivers. Best to look on their websites and fourms for advice.

DOW2 is well known for its many bugs, your best bet is to read through the relic forums situated here:

Chaos Rising is really just a patch

"If man dedicates his life to good deeds and welfare of others, he will die unthanked and unremembered. If he excercises his genius bringing misery and death to billions, his name will echo down through the millennia for a hundred lifetimes. Infamy is always more preferable to ignominy. "
