Close to done.

Level me up! I, too, wish to storm the lands of mortals reaping what is truly mine...but for now, I am but a wee spot of energy...

Well that's depressing because I'm past that point. I actually don't want this game to end.

If you find yourself lost in the woods, f*** it build a house. Well I was lost, but now I live here--I have severely improved my predicament.

I got the downloadable content and I've played at least 4 hrs past the point I mentioned- still got 5 companion missions to do as well as visiting a couple more nebulas.

Mass Effect 2 is a great game, it has many things that will shape the way games are made for a long time to come.

You've got the cut-scenes and graphics in general. Stunning. Almost every animation looks perfect (if out take out some of the akward drinking ones).

The Universe it self is fully imagined and accessable. You get to see a varity of alien worlds, and each ones is different (unlike the first where they were all the same).

Interaction between yourself and the characters is vastly improved, giving you the feeling that events are actually being shaped to your will, rather then just minor changes to the story.

Then there's the little things, being able to change your armor's color and appearance , having pets, hell having two characters give you their views on party members is all to make the you immerse in the world.

Then you have the things that weaken the game, at least for me. Being that Mass Effect 1 was one of the greatest games I have ever played the loss of some of the RPG elements was a big deal to me. Losing the ability to buy weapons and armor takes some fun from the game.

The gathering of resources is a pain in the a$$. In the first game plant exploration was long and boring, but we traded driving on the planet for just watching it spin and scanning it! How is that any better?

Upgrades cost too much, not just in credits but in resources to research them. Credits are hard to come by (unlike the first game) and while resources are plentiful it takes forever to acquire them. Personally I feel this distracts from the main game and gives you a grind feeling.

Overall I still like the game, but there are improvements to be made to the third one, which this will lead right into. The problem there being that I fear they will release the 3rd within a year using the exact same game just a re-skin.

Here's hoping hey don't.

wow can't believe to took me this long to see if Heresy had a Mass Effect 2 thread...

Its gotta be one of the best games I've ever played. Few minor complaints such as the resource gathering, but the story and game play more then make up for it. Now my only problem is I have to go back to Mass Effect 1 and make choices I haven't made to see how they play out in number 2...

and for those who haven't gotten but are thinking of it: WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU WAITING FOR? GO BUY IT RIGHT NOW!

I'm really enjoying mass effect 2, Its a really fun world to run around in, and I do like the improvements to combat. I really don't like how suddenly all the guns require reloading though. And I miss actually managing equipment and gear. Its much easier that way, but I miss getting to stat crunch guns and equipment for my team. (Although I may just have to stick with borderlands for that)

I'm all for playing this game, but you don't have to be a dick about it.

Well I just finished it today finally and I must say that it is one of the best games ever.

As soon as I saw the credits rolling I thought...Mass Effect 3... I WANT NOW.

Seriously though I might just start a new character from the first game and play him all the way though the second to do things differently. I'm really interested in what I missed.

Its a really great game. Combat, AI, storyline and just about everything has been vastly improved. The truth about the Protheans shocked me, was very cool and surprising. Plus an awesome new party selection from a Krogan supersoldier, a Drell assassin, a Geth infiltrator and an Asari justicar.

Only thing that annoyed me is that you dont get Legion, best character in the Mass Effect universe hands down, until near the end of the game. He'll get a much larger part in Mass Effect 3 though. Plus Shepard may even be commanding an army of Geth :D

Just finished it and I liked it so much that I imported the character I just finished it with to start the game over

one thing I want is the ability to split my fire everywhere, it makes no sense that a squad of 10 guard or marines or whatever all have to fire at 1 target with everything, is the guy with the lascannon not smart enough to realize maybe he would be better off firing at the massive tank looming overhead instead of the little man no bigger than a squat running at him, or is that far too complex for the 10yr olds?
