It was just a show of prettiness.

I heard some gossip abour the expansion of the Dawn of War 2 will have Chaos Marines. Since the main game has 4 races I suspect there would be 4 also in the expansion.
So I think the ones that will be included are Chaos, Necron are a must. I would welcome Dark eldar and Tau too, though I guess Imperial Guard can be another drop-in, since they are already in the game as NPC troops ^^

I guess the armies of Necrons next to the Tyranids swarms would add a little spice xD (I wonder what would happen if necrons and 'nids would clash ? according to fluff, Nids kept a WIDE distance to Tomb Worlds )

I always know what to do!
Erm... ...Or maybe not... ?

Check the News and rumours section. Chaos is indeed being added to the game in the upcoming expansion. However, all of us chaos fans are being left in the cold yet again because the singleplayer campaign is following the sm's again, not chaos. Chaos will only be playable in mp which sucks if you are like me and have no desire to play mp.

one thing I want is the ability to split my fire everywhere, it makes no sense that a squad of 10 guard or marines or whatever all have to fire at 1 target with everything, is the guy with the lascannon not smart enough to realize maybe he would be better off firing at the massive tank looming overhead instead of the little man no bigger than a squat running at him, or is that far too complex for the 10yr olds?

*Sigh*
No offence to SM players at all, but I start to get annoyed that Blood Ravens are always in the spotlight or other SM chapter (like in "Space Marine" the Ultramarines). I hoped a different campaign with the Chaos or other faction instead of the SM :/
I bet that CSM could make an impressive story-line too -.-"
At least it would be more interesting than the Mighty Super-Justice League that the SM always do xD A bit boring after a time

Alright, let's take a look at it.
Marvel comic.

How many of those are there that are about heroes fighting to save civilians from death or suffering?
Fuckloads.

How many COMICS in general have been about Villains?
A Fuckload LESS, I can guarantee.
And they'd less successful too.

Ultimately people are good, and they don't really WANT to see the graphic maiming of innocent people.
Most of the time, it's fun occasionally.

But it makes a much more emotionally involving story if the hero is a good guy, because it doesn't make you feel bad to relate to them.
Whereas when the main character is an evil bastard (Overlord, for example), there is a strong tendency to NOT become involved with the character, and simply have fun maiming some poor peasants.

Games are generally more interesting if you can relate to the character you play.
Think about movies.
Do you enjoy a movie that just involves mindless slaughter of innocent people?
Probably, but not in the right way.

You have a point and I can understand the issue, since I think the same way. I like to play good parties, heroes, characters or whatever xD (hence my chosen army is Tau ;) )
The main problem I have is that other good races such as Eldar, Tau, IG, ect. could have been chosen as the main race for the campaign.
And people can have connections to them, especially IG. Easy example: Gaunt's Ghosts story ^^
Eldar is an easy choice, same with Tau since both fight for a good cause (even if it is just mere survival, like at the Eldars).

Anyways to some degree there are some "bad" guys that are fun to focus on. Perfect example: Gorgutz ^^ In the old series of DoW he was the one that made the game funny (+ the orks themselves). So not all ad guys are a wrong choice. Though I must admit, Chaos and Deamon warhost is not something that I would call pleasant ^^;
But if you think of it, there are some games that provide you to play with the evil side too. Sometimes it is really entertaining and you may start to get fond of the evil guys, that can turn out not so evil at all

I always know what to do!

Apparently, the main thing about Chaos Rising is that you can turn heretic or something for dark gifts.
That's the gist I got off the DOW2 site, at least.

In Dawn of War II: Chaos Rising you will take command of the Blood Ravens and defend the sector against the Chaos Space Marines of the Black Legion. Purge the chaos filth and hold the chapter together as traitorous forces work from within to try bring down the Blood Ravens.

Upgrade your squads with new legendary wargear and unlock new special abilities, as your squads advance to level 30. Will you remain steadfast to the Emperor or risk heresy to gain new dark and destructive powers?

In multiplayer swear loyalty to the Chaos Gods and pit your bloodthirsty warband of Chaos Space Marines against the new units and reinforced armies of the Space Marines, Orks, Eldar, and Tyranids.

Oh when I heard that there will be an expansion, the first thing I did is to visit the Main site xD
I'm more than excited how it will turn out ? Hm wonder what the new units will be for the already in-game races ?
But for the topic: though it is just a multi-player mod, it looks interesting and promising ^^ Though I would chose the Eldar Farseer xD
