World of Warcraft?

so im building a rig for a kid at school, and he wants it to play W.O.W....which i find offensive , but having never played the game myself im curious what kind of a computer it requires, i was thinking either a 3.0 dual or a 2.3 quad with a 9600 GT and 4 Gbs of 800 Mhz RAM, 250 GB HDD, do you think this will be sufficient to keep that game from EVER lagging out?

Dude that will be MORE than enough even on the highest graphics

With those you could play Crisis(super good graphics needed) which pretty much requires that to be even played

specs are

2.2 core duo
1 or 2 gig ram
inbuilt graphics card

seriously, wow takes nothing to run, if the kid wants to run COD or the new batman ect then go with what your gonna do, that will run them with ease for him

Go with quad 3.1 GHz processor, might want to add a bigger hard drive ( because 250 gigs isnt'all that much ). And make sure you got a FAST motherboard too, at least 1333 Mhz, preferably 1600.
While it may seem a little overkill, regular WoW doesn't take up all that much, but when you're raiding, you need a LOT more than for doing an instance or running around in the world.

World of Warcraft doesn't require much to run, that's how I can run two MMO's on one computer without issues.

Just a decent amount of memort and hard disk space and it's fine. A fully installed wow client takes up to 13gb for me. Thats extremely small. I expect most laptops could run it with ease so don't worry about it lol!

I thought you needed all that just to open the folder on your computer, never mind running the actual game

So you can run yourself through dungeons with your friends account. You log onto your lowbie alt, head to the instance. Minimize and log in a second time with your friends account and go to the same instace. Form a party with your lowbie parked outside and autofollow your friends level 80 as he clears the entire thing 5 times in 1 hour. Pick up loot if you feel like it.

90% of people think they are above average.

Statistically Improbable. Psychologically Inevitable.
