This guy irritates me.
If he wants to go and program total nonlinearity within any game, he's more than fucking welcome.
The rest of us programmers are going to try and make games with as much action as possible.

procedural programming can KINDA simulate this, but he really is asking for the moon.

and if he wants nonlinearity he can go and play Dwarf Fortress.

*sigh* rant over.

On the subject of Rat Ogres:
But if we give them laser eyes and mounted guns, we'll have to bring in Clan Skryre, and everyone knows how much those limp-tailed snuff addicts overcharge.

I don't like this guy at all... there's nothing that non linear about dwarf fortress. if a meter runs down to zero they kill themselves. that was programmed into that game so it would show the best way to determine the mood meter. thing with GTA. that was done in a mission earlier in the game. it wasn't non linear. it was just one of few ways to d the mission.

No game is that non linear because every option and action in the game has to be coded and often the "non linear options" in games like that one with the princess was when the developers didn't think that through. He's asking for too much to be put into a game.

If you shit in one hand and wish in the other we all know which one will fill up faster.

And as I walk in the valley of the shadow of death I will have no fear For I am the scariest mother f*cker in that goddamned valley!

Damn nature, You Scary!!!
