Default WaR - EA forms new MMO group with Mythic and Bioware

So EA has put all the eggs in one basket so to speak, Mark Jacobs has been released and a member of Bioware have been put in charge of the group.

I mentioned before that I was concerned by the fact Mythic was owned by EA and Bioware had The Old Republic incoming and now it seems they are standing at a crossroads.

In one direction WaR continues to devolp and uses the knowledge and friendship they have with Bioware to continue the game and make it stronger. Which potentially could be a great thing for all concerned.

The other way, Bioware has a tempoary testing ground for new ideas, and EA has the intention to cannibalize the Mythic staff and eventually close WaR down, which sadly we all know EA is very cabable of.

I've no idea which way it will go, I hope its the former, but at the very least the next few weeks to months should be interesting to see what info is coming out of EA/Mythic/Bioware.

Are we seeing a new beginning or the End of WaR?

I don't think they will drop the game. It's far to popular and makes them boat loads of $. Though I cannot read the future, so who knows, they could drop it quite quickly. But does that open the door for another major game title?

in terms of sales WaR was not popular at all... We sell a lot of PC games in our shop and we only had to get one extra shipment in of them..... which isn't a lot. But to be honest ther are several MMOs that sold similarly and the servers weren't closed for several years afterwards... I believe tabula rasa was similar... But if it makes EA money they will keep it. And they know that expansions are what make the money for MMOs so they willat least try to get one or two out to try them out.....

If you shit in one hand and wish in the other we all know which one will fill up faster.

And as I walk in the valley of the shadow of death I will have no fear For I am the scariest mother f*cker in that goddamned valley!

a part of weak disc sales is that u can just digital download most mmorpgs now a days. which you might as well do, especially if you come into the game late since ur in for hour(s) of patching anywho.
