Oh the memories! I still have an Amiga 500 somewhere with hundreds of games... Must resist!!!

I didn't like Age of Empires much, found it a little too simple once you got the hang of it. Total Annihilation was a favourite for awhile.

ha! amiga 500! very good! sold my machine years upon years ago..
but i still remember my all time favorites:

turrican 2 and persian golf inferno!
yes! those were the times.. and golf inferno was really hard!

nowadays i'm back to playing master of orion2. one of the best games ever. i love designing those ships. so very cool micromanagement..

if you're ever in need of playing some old 3/86 to 4/86 or amiga/c64 based games again and know how to handle dosbox, here is something for ya :

http://www.abandonia.com/

extremly good site..

cuz it's not an old game, actually? as well as baldurs gate and fallout admittedly.. well anyways, top games.
but speaking of amiga500 is like the late 80s early 90s, when pc games were like monkey island 1. when did diablo came out first? close to 2000? '98 maybe? so roughly 10 years later..

Super Mario 2, on the Gameboy! Or, the original, and best, Pokemon!!!

Super Mario 3: Wario Land (or whatever it was called, the first GB Wario game) was incredible too...

Hell yeah! Planescape: Torment!

Just reinstalled fallout 2 today actually. Summing up the will to do the tedious temple and village bit at the start. Character creation is always fun though.

I tell you though, the best bit of retro gaming I have ever played is Transport Tycoon Deluxe. That's up for free legal download on abandonia actually, and then you could go and get openTTD for the best version to date.

Oh yeah, not an old game, but maybe some of you have heard of dwarf fort?
