Default Dawn of War 2?

I currently have an Nvidia 9500GT card, which I finally got over the weekend, so I can finally justify getting this game.

What I want to know is the basics. What's good? What sucks? Is Dawn of War 1 better?

I love the look and sound of DoW2, and was hoping to get some feedback here. I've been skimming YouTube for opinions, but would like some feedback. Shoot.

You'll forgive me, but you must be mistaken. I've met your makers, and they don't even know your name...

graphically a great game. gameplay wise, from someone who owns all of dawn of war 1. I was disappointed, I played it during the open beta multiplayer. And from what I gather from there it just wasn't a game for me. I like base building and there is none in this game. U just spawn units and fight. More like squad based rts, which im sure some people love.

I hear the single player is still pretty good, but it also gets repetitive which is a good thing for some.

The steam thing was very annoying for me. It took me 4 hours to install the game as I have slow enough broadband. then when It was finally installed I liked the gameplay. good looking game and a nice change to standard RTSs. then the next day I played it it was very repetitive. it was the same overall thing the whole time. And moral dilemmas were easily soted. Find some new wargear or save some soldiers. it was very easy to do both.... Overall not a bad game but could be much much better

game was great, i loved it but steam, omfg, it took a day before i got to play, then a month later i went to play and it said you have to log into steam because it had been so long which meant i needed to patch again. and all i wanted was single player

It was good, I really loved the way you could go around and then defend positions. I didn't really like how overpowered some of the enemies are... the Ork Warboss (forgot name, something with a 'g') slaughtered me because I had one squad about 3 levels higher than the others. It should have gone by average level, not highest.

i think the first set of DoW had more tactics, the only reason i wanted DoW2 was the nids and you can find a great mod for them online.

You won't kill me out of some misplaced sense of self-righteousness, and I won't kill you, because you're just too much fun. I think you and I are destined to do this forever.

i really liked it. i liked the smaller squad based combat over massive hordes of troops myself. i thought the campaign was a LOT of fun too.

Yeah Chaos marines would have been nice. One thing I do like about it is the ability to play the main campaign in coop multiplayer. Each person controls 2 of the 4 squads allowed and it works fantastically.

one thing I want is the ability to split my fire everywhere, it makes no sense that a squad of 10 guard or marines or whatever all have to fire at 1 target with everything, is the guy with the lascannon not smart enough to realize maybe he would be better off firing at the massive tank looming overhead instead of the little man no bigger than a squat running at him, or is that far too complex for the 10yr olds?

yeah, i've found that playing the campaign co-op is much more enjoyable and easier to manage, than trying to micromanage 4 squads. me and my buddy had a blast playing through it that way.
