um, i did buy the hard copy, it stll forces you to install steam which in turn forces you to download the patch to play single player, thats what im annoyed about mainly, they force you to use the program even if you dont want it.

I had a similar experience when I installed mine. It made me install steam when I already had it, made me install the whole thing again and wiped all my downloads from the old one... got me pissed.... got them back after a while though...

Woo 3000th post too =)

Oh didnt know thq was exclusivly using steam now. Well thats interesting to say the least, but all i can say is you got it working now so im sorry you experienced problems with steam. I am a huge supporter and although it sucks now it is a awesome platform and im sure you'll come to enjoy its uses at least a lil bit.

Reevan, (and anyone else for that matter with this kind of problem) go to the steam support site and look up the FAQ relating to DOW2. there is a ton of problems and their solutions listed. the one with renaming the file worked for me. try it out (sorry i dont' have link)

lol ITS STILL NEW. Its like when you buy a brand new first year off car. There will be recalls you better bet your ass. and if you get pissy you should have waited till the next year where it wil lbe more reliable or in gaming terms at least two months were all releae bugs are fixed.

I know. just stema started acting up when I installed the game, that's what took so long.... now it crashes every so often.... Decent generic strategy though....
