Hopefully the FoK and Tyranid mod teams meet up and put the tyranids into FoK for DoW1.

One can dream.

Until then, i've got bigger fish to fry...as DoW2 simply cannot hold my interest (although the lictor hero is fun to play)

With the new Tyranids codex, I have returned!

I played the beta for some time now, and I have to say... nah. It is a fun game alright, but it just isn't Warhammer 40k. While DoW1 was unfluffy in places, at least it reflected the 40k feeling.

The small squads concept was interesting in the beginning, but in multiplayer they ruined it with strange tweaking decisions.

Singleplayer looks fun enough, with it's RPG elements and stuff, but... it is just too small scale. "Let's skirmish our way to save the planet" is just not what 40k is about.

I will buy it and play it, but only because it is fun to play with a few friends, but forget ranked MP or pure solo SP. Everything (the low unit count, generic, and totally uncreative unit choices, the low number of maps) looks as if the game is geared towards a looongtime marketing plan for DLC (downloadable content), and expansions to maximize the profit.

Conlusion: If you whant a nice, fast paced, but somewhat generic and "small scaled" scifie RTS, go for it. If you whant a good 40k experience, stick with DoW1...

...and I'm not saying this because my beloved Sisters aren't in it yet.^^

"Sisters, do not fear or falter, for HIS light awaits at the end of this purgatory. Let this day be the day of our wrath! Alas Arabella!!!"
