I liked the good old Kar98k from CoD3, it was reliable, did lots of damage (One hit Kill FTW) and it was great at long to mid range.

You'll forgive me, but you must be mistaken. I've met your makers, and they don't even know your name...

The MP44 is always a winner. Good damage, 30 rounds, high rate of fire = win. Though in RTS, artillery in any form, particularly Russian heavy artillery. You don't even need to send in soldiers with artillery and a scout leveling an area.

I hated CoD 3 and 5.
My favorite WW2 weapon from any game is the Springfield M1 sniper rifle from CoD1. It sounded awesome and was a 1s1k gun, provided you had the skill required to handle it.

And how can I forget the Charleraut (SP?) from COD: Big Red One? I hated Treyarch for not including the British (though it's probably a blessing in disguise: I've yet to hear a convincing British accent in any game), and the French weapons were the closest I got to them.

Also there was an excellent Italian assault rifle from Big Red One, which name escapes me. In fact, all the Italian weapons are excellent, providing good rate of fire and good stopping power.

You have played COD 4 right? Captain MacMillan was played by a Scotsman. If that ain't British, I don't know what is...

The best weapon online on any game is a bazooka, because you will never will a game using it so there is a moment of surprise when they see it, then they mutter shit, then raise there weapon but at this point it is to later, there doom is inevitable, it explodes and the die, then you are known as chaos man because you are crazy

I always liked the Lee Enfield bolt action rifle from COD3. It was powerful, accurate and had a decent reload time for a bolt action.

Probably the Thompson, simply because I love the sound it makes.

And the MG42 for the RoF.

Does Wolfenstein count? Ii so, add the poison gun to the list.

All is dust...
