Halo 3 problem

Recently got Halo 3, and as everyone does I booted it up. But when I did, the disk drive whirred louder then the telly. It hasn't done this for any of my other games. Is it a problem with my copy, or is it just that Halo 3 spins faster than other games?

I don't know, my Halo spins the same as all the others. For me actually, Marvel Ultimate Alliance seems to make more noise. It's probably nothing.

Just pay attention to it. You should be able to hear the difference between a loud spinning noise, and and a loud noise that may be some kind of mechanical failure. I think I'm having this problem with my Wii now. Sounds like hell when you put a disk in.

What way do you have your 360 (and wii rdorneman) standing? is it upright or lying flat? An often ocurence with next gen consoles is that even though they are advertised standing upright they are much more dangerous that way.
When upright the disc has a bigger chance to move within the drive, only a slight wobble but when that happens it can scratch off the components inside and the laser can burn straight into the disc, ruining it.
That occurence does cause the disk to spin faster, through the laser not being able to read it and therefore increase its speed, or make more noise by scraping off the components. That coudl be the reason of the noise

If you shit in one hand and wish in the other we all know which one will fill up faster.

Ah ha! Thanks! While it still whirs more than other games, the whirring has greatly decreased. Thanks!

Whichever god you do or do not worship is telling you not to play that game.

Get Call of Duty 4

So lying it down helped yeah? It's really weird because about 35-50% of all 360 games brought into us not working have that and Microsoft have said nothing about it. No warnings no Nothing. Sony released a few cautions and the wii is built better than the other consoles for it but still.... Bad Microsoft!

The Best Buy I buy my Xbox 360s from gives you a 3-year warranty for an extra $60; if anything, and they do mean anything, should happen to your rickety console, they bring whatever is left of it in and they will give you a brand new, never-been-opened Xbox 360.

Yeah, laying down the 360 makes it run much better.
