Default Why do you play that style?

Well we All have our favourite genres in gaming like sports, shooters, rpgs, strategy games, you name a style there's probably a game made for it.

So basically What's your favourite one and why?

Mine's anything with a deep and enthralling storyline. I@m not a fan of the final fantasy fighting style ( I'm gonna hit you, then walk back and wait for you o hit me) but I love the games for their epic storylines and character plots. Same with gears. Great game but not a gigantic improvement on the original gameplay wise but the story and following personal stories in it is great for me.

So what's it for you?

If you shit in one hand and wish in the other we all know which one will fill up faster.

And as I walk in the valley of the shadow of death I will have no fear For I am the scariest mother f*cker in that goddamned valley!

true that too... I like the ol' strategy games too.... and dawn was a bit too simple... just swarm the place with as many units as you can

I'm a Final Fantasy junkie. X is my favorite by far. I've always liked the games that last 60+ hours and have a deep, complex storyline with characters that you actually feel for, and aren't just like...eh, whatever. *Spoiler* Like, at the end of FFX, I actually felt bad for Yuna, when Tidus tries to hug her and he can't because he's wasting away.

After good RPGs (there are plenty of really horrible ones out there, after all) comes button-mashing fighting games a la Soul Calibur and Super Smash Bros. They're great for party games, they tend to be visually impressive, and when you actually learn the combos for characters, the game becomes pretty rewarding.

I bloody hate sports games. I don't know why. I just do. I see Madden on the TV and I immediately leave the room.

Shooters because they immerse you more than any other game
RPG's because I like truly big, story heavy games
Fighters because it is a ton of fun to beat the shit out of friends lol

Oh, and the rock band/guitar hero game. Just too fucking cool for many reasons.

one thing I want is the ability to split my fire everywhere, it makes no sense that a squad of 10 guard or marines or whatever all have to fire at 1 target with everything, is the guy with the lascannon not smart enough to realize maybe he would be better off firing at the massive tank looming overhead instead of the little man no bigger than a squat running at him, or is that far too complex for the 10yr olds?

RPG's, shooters, strategy. I dig RPG's for the break from reality they can offer, especially open RPG's (Oblivion/Fallout 3 style). Though I like action RPG's, the old turn based will always hold a place in my collection, probably because that's what I grew up with (Final Fantasy, as mentioned).

I play strategy games when I want to think, and shooters when I don't want to think.

Oh, and Son of Horus, since you like the Final Fantasy series, I'd highly recommend to you that you look into Lost Odyssey for the 360. Beautiful game, and very involved.

Level me up! I, too, wish to storm the lands of mortals reaping what is truly mine...but for now, I am but a wee spot of energy...

Clicky!

RPG's for the story and strategy.
Strategy games, though my refusal to take the spamming route to victory means I'm not that good.
Shooter's for simplicity and violence.
Smarter slash 'em up's, I don't like the 'use one button' of dynasty warriors.
Fighting games when I just want to beat something up.
Racing games, burnout for speed and smashing, and GT for more in-depth.
