Default the perfect game?

If you could have free rein to make any game you wanted, with everything being made to your exact detail, what would it be like?

Would it be a FPS, RPG, RTS, have online, good offline multiplayer, anything you want in it you can have it.

For me it would be A dynasty warriors styled game where you at first set up the game similar to an RTS, then go fight normally but have strong tactical command of units on your side...
So what'll it be?

If you shit in one hand and wish in the other we all know which one will fill up faster.

And as I walk in the valley of the shadow of death I will have no fear For I am the scariest mother f*cker in that goddamned valley!

Damn nature, You Scary!!!

since you said ANY type of game, i would have to go with a real simulator in which you are put to sleep and awaken in the universe of 40k. every action you take in your mind is played out in the game with full on blood and gore, pretty much the closet thing ever to the 40k universe, except if you die on the game......you just wake up

sounds like the matrix with no downsides

a fps scifi rpg on w40k =D start off as a troop type unit and advance the ranks by doing raids and surviving, killing a certain amount of units and no leveling system, only a ranking system, except with the WoW ghost system, its a decent way for reviving.

Seven, That is all.

A 40K MMORPG, where the player picks a race, and each race has six starting locations, in the case or Orks, a different planet/system for each tribe, six craftworlds, the imperium would be Hiveworld, Forgeworld, Fortress world, Space Marine selection world etc.
You then follow any path you want as you advance in level, Biker, scout, marine, Guardsman, Stormtrooper, Rogue Trader, Banshee, Exarch etc eventully heading out into space to eventual battleground worlds where the factions clash, or can head out into space via own ship with the risk that brings.
Sorta cross between a traditional MMORPG and EVE in a Battlefleet Gothic style for those who want to.
In effect the game is so large you never need to leave your starting world/system if you don't want, and could just lvl there, or head into deep space to raid other folks worlds or just battle in the stars.

Apart from that Lord Reevans sounds pretty good as well.

I really like druchii in spaces idea. I never played it but eve online seemed pretty sweet so adding that to a 40k mmorpg would be cool. What I want is a mmorpg basically along the lines of druchii's idea. But I want Massive pvp! I want a Massive BG which is an entire planet with thousands of NPC's in a constant struggle to take the planet. But i mean they have an entire server devoted to this planet. You enter it from your server and you just fight massive battles with hundreds of npc's and players. It would be the cooles thing ever.

I used to like games like Civ and Populus back in the day, but wasn't that into the whole fighting thing (ie getting trounced by the Huns who suddenly had ironclad battleships). Getting a little tribe and cherishing and tending them like a sprouting flower... or, depending on your view of my benevolence, manipulating them like demented puppets. It's pretty much of a muchness.

I did think of a game that you just set the starting conditions, and let it play itself, would kinda be ethical (after I started worrying about whether my sprites had free will and/or destinies aside from my interference).

Now I think my perfect game would probably have no gameplay at all. It would just be a platform, in which you could do anything that you would in a normal game, but you could also control all the action. In effect, it would be a "make your own anime movie" game.

You'd pick a character body-shape, put a "skin" on it (let's say you have a Dwarf body-shape, slap an elfy skin on, and you have a fat pixie: you could of course have an insectoid body clothed in lizard skin, or whatever)); then pick other characters to people the world by the same process; pick the locations, by turning pictures into three-dimensional virtual loccations, and start making a movie by getting characters to run 'actions' - like a turn-based game, but giving each character instructions, then running them at the same time.

If you wanted, you could run bits of it with AI, to choreograph fight scenes and what-not.

I think that would be cool, especially as any skin, any background, any body shape would be possible. 40k movie? Why not? Remake the LotR but do it properly? Why not? Fat Pixie Manga? Well, definitely...

See now that sounds awesome, and yeah, could quite possibly be a perfect game, but the thing that would marr it for me is that it would take so much effort that it would almost start feeling like work. A perfect game for me (elaborating from my previous contribution) is pick-up-and-playable, while still retaining a satisfying complexity to it so that it actually stimulates you (ooh-er). Deus Ex 1 has done that for me, but it has a few shortcomings, hence why I said Deus Ex 3.

I'd come up with an original idea, but I'm just too tired, and I have to go wash up.

An RPG over-the-shoulder FPS set in the Halo universe (right after Halo: CE), with H3 Graphics, that allows you to use your multiplayer character in the campaign (especially Elites!), and that allows you to customize even more, down to every belt buckle and ammo clip on your avatar. Oh! And custom weapons. I want a SILENCED sniper! If Bungie were to suddenly release that kind of game...
