How like the oginal 2 is it...you know...does it have that special something?

Also, what specs does it require, and how well is it running? I'm looking at getting it, but yeah, worried about handling it on my current spec.
It is very much like F2, complete with S.P.E.C.I.A.L., Perks, Skills, etc. You really will feel like it is the natural successor to the original two. And you will need a decent pc to run it as it uses the Oblivion engine.

one thing I want is the ability to split my fire everywhere, it makes no sense that a squad of 10 guard or marines or whatever all have to fire at 1 target with everything, is the guy with the lascannon not smart enough to realize maybe he would be better off firing at the massive tank looming overhead instead of the little man no bigger than a squat running at him, or is that far too complex for the 10yr olds?

i love this game beat it yesterday at level 18 i went totally good (SAviour of the Wastes or somehting) and was a handgun hacker ( scoped .44 and alien blaster are awesome weapons) and knowing how to hack into computers is very valuable lol. Only problem with the game is at the very end.... you cant continue to play after the game ends no matter how you end it which is frusterating because i wanted to use my prototype medical armor more lol

(Sic) since 1989

I managed to get my hands on one of those copies from about a month ago and I've been waiting for the damn thing to come out for everyone else ever since. Beautiful game, my first character was an all arounder and I'm still finding places I haven't explored yet. (And still finding myself getting killed, despite having lyons pride armour and a laser gatling gun toting supermutant traveling with me.)

Still gotta play through with a more evil character (apparently in real life I struggle with willingly being evil and making the more evil choices.)

Took me a god awful long time to get into rivet city though; not getting to it but actually getting in the damn thing. I missed that button so many freaking times.

Great, that's pretty much exactly what I wanted to hear.

What's the basic story? Sorry, can't get it as my PC isn't exactly the best of the best. Thank you.

I ain't telling you any story, since that would ruin it for others, but the setting is around 2050, in an alternate universe where 1950s culture lived on. A nuclear war has happened, and a few people survived by living in vaults. They then came to the surface after it was safe and began to build cultures, either with what they could find, or with G.E.C.Ks. You are one such survivor - have fun.

Not sure of any specifics of story for the third, but that's how things stand for 1 and 2. If they've changed this in any major way, I'll MURDER THEM.

Heh...just kidding.

The game diverges a little from that beenburned; in fallout three the story is basically: you are a vault dweller and one day, your father left the vault and went outside. You leave the vault in search of him, and discover what lies outside of your sealed home.

That's gonna be hard. ;) The war started in 2077. So it's something like 2270
