I'm actually rather disappointed at in game footage. Mainly the stuff to do with the tyranids actually. Because the amount of units you control in game (like 2 or 3) your only ever going to face roughly that amount of enemies. I dont think a faux army of 2 or 3 units of tyranids can really resemble what a tyranid invasion of a world would be like. I mean why make the game smaller then introduce one of the largest swarm entities in 40k?

hardware cant handle it most likely, the graphics card , ram or processor (most likely the ram or processor) can only handle having so many units running around, therefore they cannot have a horde army of 200 weak units. the equipment can only handle 100 units at once so they beef them a bit making it even.

This might sound pointless but its better then having a lag infested game which totally ruins the experience.

Actually, your dudes are veterans, and if you watched the video, they were fighting Carnifexes, Broodlords, Gaunts, etc.

The game will have a completely different form of gameplay, though. You have your Commander and a few squads, each with a sergeant. You travel between planets in a battle-barge and answer distress signals and such. I think there's something similar for the other races.

And yes, the game does look f!@#$%^ awesome!

From the 10-15min preview I saw at Games day, its looking pretty good, the squad upgrades look really cool, and changing weapons for the commander etc. The video showing the Tyranids seemed to show a fair few of them, but aye no endless swarms, but then how could you really defeat that, they are obviously considering the wargame more than the fluff when it comes to the games design.

Got a nice free t-shirt as well, worth a 30min wait.

Loving the direction this one is taking, very reminiscent of the way chaos gate played. (Squad based, and you only had so many men each mission.)

Seriously, is it really that hard to write reviews without spoilers?

I can now tell why the game is now Single Player Space Marine Campaign only.

I'm really buzzing with this. The RPG aspect of it, seems really good.

It looks really promising. I'm so happy Relic got the contract to produce it, like the original. The last engine was getting old, Relic will set that right.
