Default rome total war

has anyone exceeded or reached the 10,000 soldier mark in an army, cuz the box tells you you can have 10,000 troops on each side. i've been trying to do that, but my computer's too slow for that.

big fan of the game, the most I ever had for one army was maybe 2,000 but no more than that. I think it meant 10,000 in a huge battle between many factions on one map....sorta a bummer. Maybe Empire Total War will more mass troop oriented.

I've seen a battle between 12,000 (6,000 a side)- it was my mate with 2 others fighting a team of 3...my mate's team mates quickly turned on him, but kudos to Jason he did last a good 10 minutes before all his troops were dead

In Rome, you were more than likely never see a battle with 10,000 men on the field at once. Economic and population factors limit this.

Online though? Certainly possible.

Personally I think the most I've had on screen was around 5 or 6 thousand. Two huge armies squaring off. However, the biggest battle I've ever fought was o Shogun: Total War. My state and the last remaining clan had been building up armies on respective borders. When we finally engaged, there were roughly 25,000 men. Many reinforcements that day.

yeah, the most i've gotten is 6,000, and im really not up to making huge armies of just allies. i don't really know if empire total war would have 10,000 men, but i don't really think empire total war looks "total war" enough from the pics. just my opinion.

I did own Rome once, but I can say I never had the larger battles that I had within Shogun or Medieval Total War, but I think it played better that way, at times.

On Shogun? Yes, they were the worse graphics of the series.

But at the time it was revolutionary. Even now it's still quite impressive, compared to 'softer' RTS games.
