Are you running a seperate sound card or onboard audio?

Here's what i would check:

Does it do the same with another pair of headphones?

Have you installed/re-installed the audio drivers?

Is it the front or rear jack? If it's the front is it plugged in to the motherboard correctly?

If you are running a seperate sound card then make sure it's seated correctly and any extra connections to the motherboard are tight.

Yeah it's doing it with everything.

Have you installed/re-installed the audio drivers?

I've installed them, but it will try to reinstall them.

I've tried both jacks with the same results. I opened up the case and everything is plugged in.

It's onboard audio.

If it's both jacks and it's onboard then it's almost definitely a problem with the motherboard or drivers.

If re-installing the drivers doesn't work i'd try checking for a bios upgrade too.

Are your audio controllers showing any errors in device manager?

I was busy during the day so I'll reinstall the drivers now. According to device management everything is working.

Try to run another os, get a usb copy of windows or linux of a torrent and run em to check if its os issue. otherwise def problem with motherboard. Also try to google the issues of your mobo, some are plagued with certain bugs everyone experiences.
Thats all i can say so far.
