Default Dawn of War....

..is one of the best games workshop video games I've ever played. It was handled really well, aside from a slightly lower grade of graphics, which was removed when zoomed out. I haven't been able to try the expansions, but now with Imperial Guard, Tau, and Necrons, it looks even more promising. Also, each expansion added units to previous armies, the latest giving marines Grey Knight squads.

Older great games as well are Final Liberation, an amazing and old epic 40,000 game. Also there was Chaos Gate. While being turn based, the visuals were stunning at the time and gameplay/combat was done fairly well. Limited grenades, clips, and resources at all made it a real tooth-and-nail game til you could retrieve more items off the fallen. Then there was the time you find suits of terminator armor hidden beneath a destroyed marine firebase, and added them to your arsenal. And the scary moment when a Khorne Beserker rushed a lonesome marine, and you twitched, waiting to get off just one more shot before that chainaxe....

I'm think i'm going to go play it now....

The first expansion made it even more amazing, and the second expansion (which is actually everything combined and can be played without DoW) is simply succulent.

You absolutely cannot be into 40k with a semi-decent computer and not own Dark Crusade. It's that simple.

If a fourth installment appears which I'm confident it will, it'll be time for Tyranids to appear. Golly goodness that will rock! Oh and hopefully SM and Chaos will get some bikes!

DOW is awesome. the new one is even better, and the graphics and gameplay are great. the campaign mode is better as well.
another good game is Mark of Chaos which is similar to DOW but based in the warhammer world.

Someone of influence should REALLY take a look at the Gears of War engine for a 40k shooter. The bulky bodies already fit the Space Marines m.o., and the smaller ones fit most others. It wouldn't be incredibly difficult for a programmer to do said conversion, as most just needs rendering. All the elements for a wonderful game are there. I would think most weapons would be standard per character used, with different types of grenades or alien weaponry through the stage to be retrieved. Just thinking of this got me pumped, ninja-style.

I love DOW. When it comes to computer games, I'm primarily a strategy man (turn-based and real-time). At the moment, my 3 main games are Dark Crusade, Medieval II, and Company of Heroes.

DC is great. I beat it as the Tau, and only have the Eldar and Tau left in my IG campaign. Then I plan on doing CSM.

It says alot when I can have a game like CoH (which is also made by relic, and has the whole "capture strategic points" thing. Oh, and it's simply AMAZING!) and still play DC.
