Default BFG'ish Video game?

I'm dying to find a computer/console game with capital scale space warfare. Anyone got anything? Extra points if you design your own ship. It could even be Trek if need be... just want something like that. PC/Xbox preferred.

Homeworld 2 is a bit dated, but it's that sort of thing.

Sword of the stars 1 + it's expansions IMO is the way to go.

You get allot of control on ship design and it's aged fairly well.

Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion. Once you get a hang of things, put up the difficulty and you should have some pretty cool space battles going on.

I'll say Star Wars empire at war: has ground combat too but that might be bad for you. The space combat though is legendary! Haven't played it a while though
I also believe it has a BFG mod, so that's a defiance plus!

........
Did you know that if you say 'gullible' slowly, it sounds like 'oranges'
