Default What could have been.

Found this article and figured you guys would find it interesting

http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news...uld-Be-Sequels

Personally I loved Space Marine, I thought it was a fun game and while not a master piece the story was interesting. The ending made me wonder if Titus would end up becoming a Grey Knight or be sent into the Eye of Terror on some sort of suicide mission. I kinda hope that they make a sequel to this game, or one similar to it but with different chapters. Especially the multiplayer, Im not the biggest fan of shooters but that had to be one of the funnest multiplayer experiences Ive had in a while. Shame no one seems to play it on ps3 anymore.

Some days i swear my dice are trying to get me killed.
Is it bad sportsmanship to cackle evilly during ones game?

I liked the game myself, but reading through his plan makes me cringe a bit. Seems to play loose with fluff some.

Still, I know I would have bought them all.

Titus's ideas on the Codex Astartes seemed pretty against the fluff, espically for an Ultramarine captain. Not to mention his choice of wargear. Still would of been interesting to see where they went with it. Considering that the game is pretty much Alternate Universe anyways i think any fluff slaughter would of been overlooked.

What does war gear have to do with the loyalty or codex adherence of a captain?

Just seemed odd that a Captain would take nothing but a bolt pistol and a combat knife into battle when he has access to what ever weapon he wanted. I can see a Captain of the Space wolves doing it as a challenge or to one up one of the other captains, but it just seemed odd for a Ultramarine.

Never said it made me question his loyalty, now if he started running around with chaos weaponry, that might get me to raise an eyebrow. Even if he is immune to chaos.

Which makes me wonder, if he is just immune (because reasons) or a blank, wouldnt one of the chapters librarians picked up on that? Epically when he became captain?

It has nothing to do with his loyalty or adherence to the codex. However, being a captain he does have access to some of his chapters greatest relics and wargear, something which Titus really didn't seem to make use of (considering he initially starts off with only a pistol and knife and eventually acquires a bolter and chainsword.)

Don't get me wrong, the game does feature him showing the level of weapons prowess you should figure an astartes captain would have. But his initial gear is more in line with an aspirant or scout.

In regards to the article, I'm very greatful we did not get those other games. I loved the story of space marine, but that ending, with Black Templars supporting an inquisitor as one Ultramarine laid charges of deviance against another Ultramarine, that was cringe worthy to me.

Seriously, is it really that hard to write reviews without spoilers?

I hated every second of the original, and would probably loathe this too. Then again, there is no more boring part of 40K than space marines for me, so whatever

Considering the fact that gulliman never intended the codex to be a be all end all book he's what they should be.

I have to admit the chance of seeing the ultradorks cleansed is appealing.
