Default MS creative director tweets about Always-Online gaming

Being a creative director obviously does not involve requiring any PR skills by the looks of it...

This is what I would be seeing every 15 minutes on the next-gen Xbox by the sounds of it.

More opinions from the guy are archived here, along with plenty of opinions about how the guy is a retard.

[Flerden] 9:05 pm: Why the hell can't he just go offline if he goes to watc tv?
[dark angel] 9:06 pm: It is Doelago, we will never know

Can someone please post "don't be sorry for posting your personal opinion, be sorry for being an uneducated unempathatic egomaniac"

He is essentially shipping out a ton of Cans to homeless starving africans, but stopping the shipping of the can openers.

they can tweet that as well.

Fair question though. Why WOULD one live in Janesville, WI?

While the guy definitely comes off as an asshat, there's some logic to the thought process. People in low connectivity areas are less likely to have the disposable income for state of the art video games. It's a strategic choice to focus on marketing to areas that have high connectivity, as opposed to West Bumblefuck and other small towns where family trees don't always fork.

I think it's got more to do with the fact that people lose the illusion of choice in the matter. As the (I would say VAST) majority of gamers are always connected to the internet anyway, systems requiring "always on" now removes the concept of those players "choosing" to play online. They no longer have a say in the matter and feel they have lost some power as consumers.

Though I must admit I'm not fond of the idea myself, because of how shitty the infrastructure is in the US for internet outside of specific major cities and regions (anyone with Comcast is screwed).

Hell, I live on Long Island NY where the internet is amazing compared to other parts of the country and my internet blows in my apt.

What a fucking arrogant idiot frankly. Man needs a slap... with a brick... that's on fire...

His idea of "well I have good internet so therefore everybody must have the option of having it and just simply choose not too" is so moronically flawed its not funny.

Everyone still remember our good friend Orthy here? Seems like the backlash hit him like a brick wall in the face.

Looks like he should

The fuck, he's a DIRECTOR of the company. How can those personal views NOT be reflective of those of the company, as his personal views are what DIRECTS the company.
