Default Disney kills Lucasarts, Star Wars games cancelled

So this morning Disney shut down Lucasarts (the guys that make games), and cancelled the current Star Wars games. Yes, say goodbye to Star Wars 1313 and Star Wars: First Assault (also known as Star Wars: Battlefront Interest Check).

This far, I have had no problem with Mickey Mouse owning Star Wars... But now? Fuck those cunts. I wanted both of those games!

Yup, same here. Is it time to grab our torches and pitch forks, or just exterminatus Disney?

My youtube channel. Feel free to stop by and have a look if you're interested. I do Airsoft, some warhammer related videos, and gaming videos.

R.I.P. Uncle Lee. You will be greatly missed by us all. We will see each other again some day.

i wouldnt worry too much, disney have a massive portfolilo of computer games and connections with some pretty top notch games studios like square enix, when stuff gets bought by another company certain stuff gets cut away, sold off or centralised and lucas arts has never been that productive, dont get me wrong they have made some great games in the past but more star wars stuff has been going out of house than staying in lately.

HUGE BITZ RESTOCK NOW ON

They only wanted the Film part, everything else is being shutdown, before this they already cancelled the clone wars series.

Squenix is great, but look at how they have devolved their Final Fantasy.

It's ok though, my evil genius plan always involved becoming president and using tampa as a nuclear testing site.

>unnamed "trusted Kotaku source" says DISNEY BAD
>Disney publicly saying they're looking for devs for both of those games.

Sounds like Kotaku drumming up a story. Disney has absolutely no reason to lie about not wanting to develop those games further. And Lucasarts isn't being "killed", they're being moved from a developer role (which was minimal at best compared to full developing companies) to a licensing role, which is more Disney's style. They don't do much in-house stuff anymore, they just peddle their brand.

Looking into this for more than 5 minutes showed that Disney actually had little to no role in this. Lucasarts was fast going down the toilet for a long time. This was always coming to them.

As an aside can everyone stop going on as if the next Star Wars movies are going to have loads of Disney placement all over them. They bought Marvel studios and released the Avengers. I certainly did not recall seeing any mickey mouse ears or Disney musical numbers being sung. However it did note that the movie was enjoyable to watch and so I look forward to this next Star Wars movie. Disney might be well the lifeline that Star Wars needed ever since the prequals.

I have recently started a new Blog. I would really appreciate it if you would LOOK AT IT
